I don't know if it's just an Australian localisation thing but if I buy Silent Hunter 5 by itself (supposedly a collectors edition) it'll cost me $59.99 but if I purchase the bundle with 3,4 and 5 together it's only $39.99. I've already got 3 and 4 so it doesn't really matter but it's a little odd.
I wonder how many more of these type of great deals there are on Steam. Do they expect people to buy the individual game for more or is it a way of shipping more copies since SH5 got such a bad rap?

It's not just Silent Hunter 5. I've seen several other games on Steam where it was more expensive to just buy the one title than to buy the entire collection. Why that happens with certain games I don't know.
In fact, I just experienced that odd pricing last night. You can get the season pass (upgrade) for Shadow of Mordor which is 9.99 and it includes all of the DLC's released so far or you can buy some of the individual DLC's like "The Bright Lord" or "Lord of the Hunt" for the same price!

Shadow of Mordor is on my wishlist, unfortunately I missed the last sale. Out of curioisty how much is SoM in the US? It's $66 for the goty edition down here. Things are usually cheaper in America but with steam you never know.

Things are usually cheaper in America but with steam you never know. Ok, I just checked and it's 49.99 for the base game and then 9.99 for the GOTY upgrade. So 60 USD for everything. I got Shadow of Mordor on sale for $35 during the last Christmas sale.

Only ten bucks difference, not bad. Don't know why though since Steam doesn't have to ship a physical product and there's no sales tax online. Better than trying to buy an something Apple at least...USA AUS And they wonder why people buy the cheap knockoffs

Yeah, I had similar issues with Splinter Cell Black List IIRC. The Steam rep just shrugged his shoulders (at least I imagined him to) and told me to buy the cheaper version.

Supposedly the AUS-USA free trade agreement covers electronic purchases but I'm never surprised to see some sort of duty or custom where you don't expect it.
I wonder how Apple pulled out the extra thousand bucks on their iPhones though. Guess it might have something to do with provider plans.

US carriers subsidize the phones. The remaining several hundred dollars are broke up over the two years of the contract and you pay for it that way. Unlocked (ie non-subsidized use at carrier-of-your-choice) iPhone 6 16GB is what, $600 here?

The prices here in the EU are similar to the Australian prices. A$999 = 688.62 Euros A$1149 = 792.02 Euros

I'm glad I live in 'Murica baby! You did notice the asterisk behind the US price, though? If you scroll waaaaaaaay down, it says: *May require a plan (which may include restrictions on switching service providers and roaming, even after contract expiration); sold separately to qualified customers. There's no such * with the Euopean/ Australian offer. So I assume the given price includes some kind of plan.

@ Jayhawk - Yes, that is true but even without a data plan with a telecom provider, the phones are still significantly cheaper in the US compared to Europe and Australia. And we haven't even considered VAT/sales tax yet which is much higher in Europe than in the US.

Yes, like I said, you pay $200 and in return you're locked to AT&T/Verizon/Sprint/whatever for two years and your monthly bill is higher.
What are average monthly bills for them over there? That would be the best test. My wife and I each have an S5 we got a year ago and I think we pay $80/month for our (low data) plan? I'd have to ask her, it's been a year since I paid attention to it!

All prices here include Tax. There cannot be any hidden fees or taxes in the price. Also apple has an habit of inflating prices. For example Huawei has a very good smart phone for sale here for 269,99 Euros with simlar specs to the iPhone: http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_p8lite-7201.phpSmartphone Dual SIM Android 5.0 Lollipop 5' 16 GB HiSilicon Kirin 620 Octa Core 1,2 GHz Camera 13 MP PS: Oh yeah you can also get the iPhone 6 for 137.90 Euros, plus 23 Euros/month for the next 24 months. https://loja.meo.pt/equipamentos/Smartphones/Apple/6-16GB

What Jedi said. Note the asterisks next to the prices on the US ad. Dollars to donuts the small print is "with a 2 yr plan". The AUS ad doesn't have asterisks.
