Years ago I did a conversion of Combatstick + PRO Throttle (BU0836) and find there this PRO Throttle sketch I make at time:
5 - common wire for right HAT
6 - common wire for top HAT
7 - common wire for left HAT
8 - common wire for 4 press buttons (one for thumb and 3 for little, ring and middle fingers.
9 - common wire for the index finger HAT (from of grip)
This is the 5 "column" in the matrix, as PRO Throttle count 20 buttons is need 4 "lines" (5x4=20).
In that PRO Throttle the owner ask for exchange the index HAT by Combatstick red shoulder button (one fit perfectly in place of other) because this (index) HAT is difficult to reach for short finger person. This reduce the buttons count for 17.
As BU08336 matrix is 6x6 you can reduce one column - if want - for example, wire 5 go for right HAT and for 2 press buttons, wire 6 for top HAT and 2 press buttons so the wire 8 can be eliminated. Notice that this is optional, you can use 4 positions of 6x6 matrix in throttle and 2 in stick.
And, Bu0836 handle 32 buttons. Combatstick + PRO Throttle need 30 (20 in throttle, 10 in stick - besides the HAT that have specific position in the 6X6 matrix).
Suggestion to use these spare 2 buttons, a second stage on trigger:
http://snomhf.exofire.net/dualTrigger.htmlI make this:
And a pinkie lever on stick, I did this one with aluminum sheet and a piano wire that press the switch - from a defective CDROM:
The pinkie lever is trick because require that angle (trial and error), the stick movement is big and without the angle the lever touch the base.
After some epoxy putty to make more thick and paint (5/6 times
and the final mate varnish stained with moisture
)
Change the lower button position more for left - what result more difficult that the previous "MOD's".
