I have several friends who were submariners, and a SEAL, but I didn't know that President Carter was nearby me recently. Sure would have been neat to check this out. Oh well, I have the U.S. Open to look forward to. Go Navy!

Several US Presidents served in the USN. In addition to Carter there was also George HW Bush, Gerald Ford and JFK.

As well as LBJ and Nixon. From JFK to Carter all were USN WWII vets.

Jimmy Carter was in the Naval Academy from '43 to '46. That might technically qualify as a WWII vet though, I don't know.
