That is because you are a developer and I am a consumer No, i am a consumer too, but i am also a software developer (not in the game industry, god forbid) and i don't think that i payed a "premium" for anything i received from ED or their 3rd party developers. In a less schewed market, you'd be paying 4 figures for EDs products. That is what professional tools of comparable complexity cost. Do you even know what scale of issue is. The reason 'professional' tools cost 4 figures isn't complexity, it is estimated sales. An A10C training tool would have about 100 customers max, iow, the company would only be able to sell 100 copies. There are only a few training squadrons (bases) with only a few pilots per squadron needing training at any one time. In order to make a profit , they would have to sell at 1000s of dollars per copy. With the entertainment side, they have 100,000s of customers.

lol, if dcs world would be usefull as a professional training simulation, there would be quite a few companies using this instead of investing hundreds of thousands dollars/euros for an actual professional simulation...yet i have not heard of any company using dcs world as a professional training tool...can you name even one to support your claim? Smartgraf with "MiltiEDGE", and AVIA, Concord XXI and Aeromask with procedure, flight training and full flight simulators. http://smartgraf.com/http://aeromash.by/en/index.htmlhttp://www.concordavia.com/http://avia-ts.ua/AVIA with a Mi-17 training simulator on April 2015 on ITEC (International Forum for the Military Training, Education and Simulation Sectors) 2015 on Prague. https://youtu.be/CEF7K-RYb_k

I have some doubts about 100,000 sales being achieved - maybe over a year for all modules with Steam included, my guesstimate of the business model is that there are at all times some work being done for the military market and that it has priority. The L-39 for which there was zero demand and no one ever mentioned in our community , is attractive as there is a good market for civilian L-39, where a more complex L-39 simulator can find a market , the sudden urge to release the L-39 that doomed that crew that was doing it as well can be explained by the desire to explore that civilian & military market. - what every one of us should have in our signature:

Finally got around to reading the last half dozen pages...man this thread is UGLY!
Indeed, horribly off topic and there's so much whining a preschool would be jealous. I'm requesting it be closed, I regret even starting a topic in here.

I've thought about it as well.
I've posted here
http://SimHQ.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/forums/327/1/DCS:_P-51D_Mustang
42 skins updates
not one of the "representatives" of the developer posted there.
they don't care about that, you can contribute whatever you may like to the community.
but post something they don't like !
immediately the developer's "representatives" come here to attack , in an attempt to shout us down.
They are not interested in being part of the discussions in these forums - they are here solely to disrupt members whose opinions they don't like and drive people away. Hold up, lemme go find my threads/posts that help explain module structure and how to setup your own, and delete them.

Where do you think DCS A-10C came from?

Skate: While you are looking for your "threads/post that help explain module structure".Is it possible to attach code to a module so that when the module is spawned, a lua script is executed?
My hurdle with my SAR project was in trying to have a custom module based on a FARP object, that could be placed at a FARP, which would establish a SAR interface in the comms menu and listen for pilot eject events. I couldn't figure out how to get an object to link to lua code like that.

They are not interested in being part of the discussions in these forums - they are here solely to disrupt members whose opinions they don't like and drive people away.
I've both flown with Skate on the unofficial SimHQ DCS servers, and I've played with him on the official SimHQ Arma 3 server. I can't say I remember things being disrupted or people driven away either time. Community is more than sweeping generalizations on a message board.
Off to greener pastures
