Yay!

I just signed a contract for a permanent position with the company I'm currently temping at. I become a regular joe on monday biggrin

It's very nice when you're trying out a new field of work (I used to work with maps/geodata but was unemployed for 18 months so decided to change careers to payrolls/salaries) to get so appreciated as I've felt from the moment I started there (dec 29th).

It also carries with it a 15% pay increase from what I was getting as a temp worker, and it's a position where my technical skill will have some application in the future with new systems being introduced.

I was supposed to be converting next month to full time as well, but the company has a hiring freeze as of 6 weeks ago. frown So my 12 months will be extended until hiring resumes. My job is secure, but I really want to start getting vacation and sick days again!
