I found this out while running the Showcases/Night mission. Here’s a screenshot running ARMA3 clean (no mods) ...

I do like ACE3 but YIKES! That's a hard pill to swallow.

The "hard pill to swallow" feature is part of the advanced medic setting. Try the "easy pill" setting. It might help with the frame rates.

You’re right about the medical system being the culprit. I don’t know how to switch between basic and advanced medical so I just removed the ace_medical.pbo file from the addons folder and all seems acceptable now ... only seeing about a 5% fps hit with ACE3 now.

I think it defaults to basic medical, like with the Showcases/Night mission. Maybe you have to drop an advanced medical flag into missions to enable that? I dunno, but I don’t think it matters since the whole ACE3 medical system is probably the culprit. A real wildcard since some missions already bog down framerate without ACE3.

It’s really too bad since even the basic medical system is pretty cool. Hopefully they can sort out the performance issues in future releases but I won’t be using ace_medical.pbo until then.

I don't think I am seeing the same slowdown. My framerates did not seem to change.

I haven't noticed any issues.

I read Fridge's install guide and installed ACE3 from the link he provided and the problem seems to be resolved.

I noticed it's up to version 3.0.1 now. I was running version 3.0.0 and I have a feeling there might have been some debug logging going on or something which caused the really bad framerates during certain parts of that Night mission.

Anyway, I'm relieved.
