Or facts if you have tested. WOFF is probably 98% of my computer time - when I get the time.
It's tough to tell things with screenshots but Hellshades in the Beta Shaders thread really look good and got me thinking.
The goal here is to make WOFF look good but, of course, that comes at a performance cost but I have horsepower to spare to experiment a bit.

To make WOFF look good am I better off with higher AA/AS at a 1920x1080 resolution (native on my monitor) or lower AA/AS at a higher screen resolution?
Which would have the lesser of a performance impact but look better?

If you have experimented and I will guess someone has or if you have tech knowledge I would appreciate it.
PR - this might be your area of expertise as the hardware guy.

I say go for the higher AA\AS myself.

If your screen is going to go above it's default res then no doubt the mhz refresh rate will drop which isn't great as your FPS wont go above it's mhz. I made a silly mistake of buying a 24inch screen which may have 1ms rate but only goes upo 70mhz at 1920x1400..when I should have done some more research and gone for a 120mhz screen.

I'm running a 4k monitor but I didn't get it for the resolution (yet) because most video cards have a very hard time pushing that many pixels fast enough. I got it because its LED and because it's g-sync capable, so that my screen refresh rate is tied to my video cards output. Gets rid of stuttering from v-sync and keeps frame rates pretty smooth even as low as 24 fps. I find 1920 x 1080 even on 28" is fine, especially with good AA.

I agree with what's been mentioned. If you have the spare horsepower, then crank up the AA. When I had an nVida card, my settings were:

Anisropic Filtering: 16x
Antialiasing - Setting: 32xS (8xS or 8xQS, if need to lower & not 16)
Antiasliasing - Transparency: 8x Sparse Grid Supersampling (need to lower to 4x if using 8xS or 8xQS)
Negative LOD Bias at Clamp
Texture Filtering: High Quality
Triple Buffering On
Vertical Sync enabled
