Gents, I realize this is not a commercial airline forum, I am posting this for your confidence so that you don't question or worry when you are on a plane flying with your loved ones or on a trip you must take. As some of you know, I am an aircraft mechanic for a major international airline, and this is how I make my living.

I currently hold B767, B757, B777 and B747-100/200/400 airframe ratings, plus GE90/115, RR-Trent 800, RB211-524F/G/H, RB211-535, CF6-80c and CFM-56 engine ratings

There is no possible way this can be done... I will put all my licenses (FAA/CAA/EASA) and all my ratings on the line for this one. If you have heard this story, have friends that mentioned it, are at all concerned... you now know someone in the 'industry' that can say with great confidence that it cannot be done. Whatever 'research' this moron did, or claims to have done is totally false. I really despise individuals like this that inherently hurt the beauty and integrity of an industry that has been battered to pieces buy human intervention.

I hope the FBI nails him to the wall over this.

Even if it is impossible, attempting to do so smacks of - at the very least - reckless endangerment.

Ha! I saw that a few days ago and knew that was a load of bollocks the second I read it.

Holey Moley, OvSatchel! I have learned something new about you today. That is an impressive array of type certs!

I saw the headline and didn't even click. I figured it had to be that stuff you shovel out of the stalls. But being from Pittsburgh, home town of Andy Warhol, I can say that his 15 seconds of fame are going to bring him a long period of misery!

Good to know.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.
