Hopefully it gets added to the modpack quickly. Some of the features look incredible. parts of it will be included in the next update which is in the works

You know, I considered this mandatory with Arma 2 but 3 pretty much fixed all the issues I had with the engine that ACE fixed. If it becomes mandatory that's totally fine but for once this is one ACE release I won't need to install Still having nightmares about the Six Updater...

Still having nightmares about the Six Updater...
Six Updater was/is a horror so indescribable it is impossible to convey without actually having used it. The early iteration of ACE 3 I played back in April looked extremely promising, I'll have to check what's changed.

ACE3 looks great! Still having nightmares about the Six Updater...

Played around with this a little late last night with Princess and Near Blind. The advanced medic script is pretty cool and would (should) force people to be more tactical (move cover to cover and get to cover first, before shooting back) which is something I like.
TFR with Princess, Near Blind and Adlabs was cool as well. It will change the nature of leading a team for the better.

I get the feeling that most of the more complicated stuff will be removed but I think it might be beneficial to have a more robust configuration for use on nights that players want to be more tactical.

will see, from what i can tell it can be set on a per-mission base, which would be ideal.

depends on where you're hit and the severity of the wound. ACE has blood as your "life" points. So if you get hit, you're going to bleed. If you bleed too much, you're going to lose consciousness. If you bleed more than that, you'll die. You'll also bleed faster or slower depending on the severity of your wound.
In my experience, even on the hardest, most advanced medical system if you get hit in the arms or torso, as long as you are prompt on stopping the bleeding, you'll be fine and back in the fight relatively quickly. If you don't, or you run out of bandages (this is a very serious issue), you're going to require a buddy to stop your bleeding and pull you out of the line of fire. At which point a medic can give you a transfusion and a shot of epinephrine and you're again, back in the fight. The super advanced settings also add things like tourniquets, blood pressure, and basically everything you'd read about if you've ever taken an emergency first aid class. I wouldn't worry, I doubt that system will be used by anyone but medics, if at all.
ACE rewards a more methodical approach to combat, and the wounding system is one way that it disincentivizes brash play. If you aren't prompt with treatment, you will be out of the fight for however long it takes to get a medic to you. It will also take a rapid toll on the group logistics: stopping blood loss can take multiple bandages per appendage. That said, as long as your group has the supplies and you aren't dead, you can always be put back in the fight.
Oh, the ACE implementation of battlefield clearance (dragging, carrying, loading of wounded) is far less buggy and far better than anything we've used so far.

theres 2 version of medic in ACE3, basic and advanced
The basic isnt much more than default arma3 really, however instead of instant "your fine!" you have to bandage certain parts (which are show in different colours), and if the units unconscious you have to give them epi. Think of it as a slightly different version of the old ACE2 system
The advanced system is a massive change, it has blood levels, heart rates, overdoses, bandages can fall off etc
The good news is that its mostly fully customizable. You can set it so it doesnt make you die any quicker than default, or you can set it so it takes more shots to kill you, you can also turn of "insta-deaths", so instead of going straight to dead, you'll go unconscious instead, though you can still be killed in that state.
Overall its a nice improvement over what we have now.
