Hopefully this one won't have Shia Lebouf swinging on vines with monkeys, really fake looking CGI and villains with really bad Russian accents. http://m.imdb.com/news/ni58571022?ref_=m_hm_nw_tp

You know the other day, that vine swinging scene in Crystal Skull came to my mind. And I though, man what a misfire on that. So far off the mark for Lucas.

And then I remembered...

Return of the Jedi, Chewbacca and two Ewoks swinging from a vine... AND giving a Tarzan yell.

Yea.

After the last movie I'm not sure I actually want to see another Indiana Jones movie.

Never thought I'd say that.

When I get that feeling I just watch ROTLA and my mood immediately improves. What a fun, fun movie to watch! It's like "Master & Commander" in that I never tire of seeing it.

And aliens. They threw everything in there. Where do you even go with the next one? Time travel, perhaps.

I especially appreciated the refridgerator nuclear launch.

Normally I would agree with this statement but not when it comes to the Indy franchise.

Yes, the previous three Indiana Jones films all had their fair share of over the top stunts and action scenes but the difference with those films is that the actors and actresses cast for those films simply "worked". I also think it was a mistake to switch the premise from investgating religious supernatural phenomena to aliens.

Spielberg actually took credit for that one, no need to blame Lucas. Lucas wrote the story, not the script, so details like that which aren't part of the story (because after being knocked off the vehicle there were plenty of ways they could've had Mutt get back to the fight) are left to the collaboration of the director, writer, and sometimes stunt director and actors.

You also forget in the first film, there was a bit of rope swinging as well. wink

I heard they're working on having Harrison Ford reprise his role as Indy. I thought he was perfect for the first three movies. I'd love to see the franchise go back to pre-WWII with Chris Pratt as Indy.

Good call! I can easily see Pratt as a younger Indy.

There's an established history of the actor playing Indy doing lots of side SF roles. Pratt already has GotG2 and Passengers in production, with Jurassic World next month.

He still needs to do a film where he needs to protect his family, though.

Ha, yea! But somehow that just seems totally "possible" and "OK", at least compared to swinging through a dense jungle and keeping up with cars! biggrin

Heck, Luke even seemed quite heroic doing that grappling hook swing with Leia!

It was a swashbuckling homage. Errol Flynn, Jedi Knight!

Anyway, I'm sure Karen Allen is quite excited about this news about another Indy film. She can use the work!
