Anyone else eagerly awaiting W3 Wild Hunt??!! Witcher 2 is the first one I really got into as well as understanding its world and lore and rpg approach. I've been enjoying the first Witcher for the first time. I almost finished W2 and hope to do so before The Witcher 3 comes out.
I took some unknown potion and started to see purple and move in slow motion.
I'm a Witcher. This is what I do. Now where's my orens?
Okay, I was bleeding out and close to death. I drank and ate everything I could in my inventory to prevent death and got as drunk as a skunk. A long walk becomes a longer one when you're sauced lol.
A stole some dice off a dead bandit I killed. I played my friend Zoltan the dwarf. I won the first round then lost the second along with almost 200 orens to him darn his little hide.
I'm only using one mod that apparently came with one of the latter boxed versions of the game back in the day as it was approved for use in their game by the developers. It adds walking, and more graphic hit detection among other things. If you make a successful hit on an enemy you actually see a red gash show up on their persons. The combat is a bit wonky in this one, trying to click attack at the right timing to kill your enemy. I can get to the "final" hit level but never can seem to time that last one just right to get a finishing move. Great games and I can't wait for the Wild Hunt.

This is definitely good, old school pc gaming. Combat is tough but rewarding. My character skills and know how are minimal so its a bit of a grind to get to a place to where you are more well off. Saving is important. Sometimes an engagement takes me a dozen times before I'm able to proceed and every iteration the enemy combat outcome is different. I'm still learning how to use the three combat styles which add a nice and uncommon layer of strategy to fights as certain enemies take more damage from one fight style over another. And I still don't have a silver sword dangit! And you need it for monsters which I'm barely hacking away at with my single steel sword. Great, great game.

It's very old school. I enjoyed it, although many did not for reasons I fully understand. 2 still took the series and skyrocketed it, I'm very much foaming about wanting to play 3!
Scully: Victim died of multiple stab wounds. Mulder: *throws her a file* Ever heard of the knife alien?

I got on with both The Witcher and Witcher: Assassin of Kings after installing FCR (1.6) and FCR for W2. Struggled with the combat in vanilla (not hard, just jarring).
Worth a look, though I gather it can be tricky to uninstall (probably reinstall completely to be totally safe) if you decide to remove.

I've just started playing Witcher2 to prepare for Witcher3 release in a few weeks, this time I am using the full combat rebalance mod 2 which hopefully will make the combat more fun which was the reason I never got far in Witcher1 or Witcher2 on previous attempts to play through it.
I'am actually a bit conflicted about W3. Loved the first one and really disliked W2. IMHO they made horrible changes for me in almost every aspect of the game and turned a cRPG in an action game. I made 3 solid attempts to play and like W2 but only got as far as the beginning of Act 2... So no way i'am preordering W3. Will wait and see how it looks and plays after the release.
Awsome shots Coot btw!

I never cared for it, it's just clunky, ugly and full of bugs. Didn't much care for the difficulty either. I felt Witcher 2 took the strong aspects of The Witcher, the story, characters and world, gave it better combat, visuals and more polish and so I got along with Witcher 2 much better.
