Also a chance for others to post their 'brags' which will not doubt be much worthier and braggier...

Had my first round with 5 kills. In my PIV/70 SPG.

Got them all in the space of 2 minutes on Karelia map when I lucked onto the back of an Allied 'convoy' headed for our zone.

Took out two in quick order then the third as he tried to turn his machine to take me on. Then I was able to hide behind his burning wreck and duke it out with the last two.

Good fun, considering there was only one one shot kill in there! 16 hits for 5 kills...

That's awesome HeinKill. There's nothing more satisfying than raking in a few kills in this game smile

Don't have any of my best kill screens saved. However I still have my biggest point bonus, which I also posted in the WT Screenshot thread;

A whopping 36.000RP in one Realistic Battle.

Good stuff smile
I've actually been having a good few missions in the MkIV F1 and F2 today.
On one mission a MkIV was being hounded by an M-22 that was charging round it like a mad dog... the idiot didn't see me coming though as I came to the MkIV's aid and put him to death... but, yet another gripe. How on earth could a light tank survive after four 75mm rounds up its arse end at point blank range be allowed in the game?
Oh, I know... it's historic, the crew had researched and leveled up, plus they must have given the US army lots of GE's to boost their vitality... (sigh) pathetic...
Took 5 rounds to finally finish it off frown
Having said that I've killed several of them today so I really enjoyed myself... 'Payback' hahahaha!

Best recent sim event battle was an 8 kill match in the Tiger and a 9 kill in the Sherman. Never seen anything like 36000rp gained like Sethos though ! That is insane.

Had my two best battles this weekend in my good ole M4A1(76) Sherman and when I say "best" I don't mean highest kills.

First battle was on the Poland map around dawn. The sun was just coming up behind us as we went to meet the Germans and I meant to use that factor to the fullest extent. Without going into too much detail early in the battle I flanked right and surprised a group of Tigers taking a small lake village. I destroyed 2 Tigers and an Ostwind tho two more Tigers escaped tho to be dealt with by the rest of my company.

I found myself the lone survivor towards the end of the battle and had to Cap B that was situated in an open field surrounded by forest. Scouting the area from afar I could see that 2 Tigers were defending, one North and one South of the area. I again came around them and surprised each from behind and destroyed both without giving up my location. AS I took the area a lone PzIVH finally put a round into my engine disabling it but luckily I was able to get a round off that destroyed him.

Overall I had 6 kills that battle. 4 Tigers, a PZ-IVH, and an Ostwind. Fortunately that lone Pz-IVH was their last survivor and we won the match. Was an awesome feeling. biggrin

Ugh,

I wish I could play, keep running into RB and SB that do not have the limited supply of Tanks that I own. Really upset I have Premium time but cannot use it most nights.

What a waste....

Drop a quick review on it for us Chucks, i can't see myself getting into another grindfest type deal..especially if it is to arcadey, but still interested in your thoughts on it smile Would love a decent naval sim.

I would say it's 'too arcadey' so it closely follows its track-bound cousin in that respect. My premium cruiser acts like a speedboat but I understand it's one of the quickest ships in the game.Others are far more ponderous. The gunnery I like a lot and once I figure out the torpedoes that will be fun too.And just like WoT there is no crew, just 'ghost ships'.

If you're looking for a replacement for TF1942 this is not it.

*To get a real feel for the game I suggest you check out the stuff on YT especially from 'The Mighty Jingles'.

Let me talk about my 'planned brag'. I discovered the other day that you can hit aircraft with tank shells - I hit a Stuka with my SU85m. Just a hit, didn't bring it down.

I am so going to plug me an aircraft in my spg and get a screeny and come here and brag about it!

Brought down a P-47 last night who thought he would pick on some lowly Panzer III on a spawn point (me)...
There is nothing more satisfying than seeing some twerp who flys over a spawn point looking for victims get blown to pieces smile

Not my best results, but it was great to take down two IL2's in quick succession that were bothering my battle group!

Planes can be so painful in the sim events, always nice to knock even one down smile Taking out two is a better feeling than a win.

Kursk with the Tiger, 9 kills, 8 with the beast and one with the Stuka. Brought up my 2000th Russian Tank Destroyer kill biggrin Flanked way West as i always do, popped a lowly AI Bt7 on the way who was giving away my position and then halted the enemy teams Western flank rush with three T34/85s, two IS1's and two Su's destroyed in a hectic couple of minutes. Lost my Tiger to a T34/57 who managed to pop my track and then pinged my turret leaving me dead on the field while he sat at 500 metres hull down mercilessly shooting me to bits.

Bombed up the Stuka D5 and took out a Sherman, game went full distance and was decided on points.

Love Kursk.

My first game in some time. GTA 5 stole a lot of my attention.

Had a decent first game, too many assists though for my liking.

Well, been playing some lowly T-34 club setup to spade the T-34E STZ. Managed to get 20 player kills, which is a new record for me, I think.

Wow Mudcat, that actually looks like a nicer old school ui than what we have now.

Latest brag result, Sim ground event, Poland. Nabbed up 6 on a big flank around to enemy cap then started to get annoyed by an IL2 who just missed the first bomb run as i bolted into some trees after bleeding the enemy cap. As he winged around i went back for cap, i placed arty in front of me hoping it may catch anything coming over the hill in front, the IL2 dropped and just missed, my arty hit him as it was coming down and he duck dived into the lake sans ailerons biggrin Haven't had an arty plane kill since AB mode a long time ago. Just after i capped and the match only had a few seconds to go an Su popped over the hill and plugged me..bastid !

Moment of arty air strike biggrin

1.29 was the last they had that screen, it was put to rest in June of '13 goodnight Shame really lots of nice stuff went away to try and appeal to a certain crowd they coveted.

Also holy crap, I never considered trying to get a plane with an arty strike, nice job!

I could never get more than 4 planes down in another AC while flying in SB. So of course in a Wirbelwind last night took out 5 in one battle Ace AAA gunner?

Most i have got is three, nice work ! It seems random sometimes getting AA hits, weirds me out.

Last couple of Poland events yesterday in my H1, ran outta ammo would you believe and missed out on an easy three kills while i just sat in an open field half hull down calling enemy positions. Teach me to not take HE when facing Zsu's. Wasted 8 or 9 shots on one of them (i only take 30 rounds) and have finally loaded two HE rounds from now on in. Managed to cap with no ammo as well, tense time it was moving around and ready to run for the forest at the first sign of movement ! A bunch of those 42 hits would have been my MG on the Zsu.

Poland again, scored an IL2 kill with the Tiger MG and then rolled four M18's, still lost biggrin

Oh yeh, Tiger crew is now this...

I was hoping to get at least 3 to 1 with the Tiger by 500, sitting at 2.96 atm with 468 kills v 158 deaths. I can only die 8 more times and need 32 kills, yikes. Dem planes man.

I chalk it up to all that time spent playing those old school slow projectile FPS games like Tribes/Quake/Doom. The hard part of it with WT is that your rounds don't seem to decrease in size proportionally over distance. Which I think is why it seems rather random and weird. You don't have much visual difference between a round 1km away and 5km away, plus the smoke trails obscure the heck out of any drop over distance.

In case you wanted to see the match, I used it for a video, not trying to spam it, just figured i'd put it here in case you didn't wander into that part of the forums :P

If anyone ever wants, I'd be happy to team up to keep those pesky planes away from your tanks smile

woah, just come off an a mad sim event, Mozdok, F2. First one out of the gates i got in a duel with an M10, just came out in front, critted. T34 spotted me crawling behind a rock and nailed me. Next F2 out and i said to myself, alright dude..you ain't gonna die this time. Just as i spawned in our cap was being overun, laid down arty and killed one luckily, got there just in time to knock out another T34. Took a hit from a Su that took out my track, hit repair then killed him with my second shot, 3 down. Finish repair.

Moved towards their cap, t34 rolled ahead and we both shot, hit him and he bounced off me. Moved forward and to his right behind a rise spotted an M10 and another T34 waiting for where they thought i would keep driving ahead. Boom, 4 and 5 down, they didn't even look my way. The first T34 was still poking his turret where i was before a minute ago, 6 down. Came across the road and an M10 was hitting on a stug, crit, kill, 7 down. Another M10 ahead fording the river, 8 down, cap time.

An il2 was blowing around and i knew more were on the way after that streak of kills. Ran through the cap and headed for cover and to keep moving. Il2 killed another chap who had made it onto the cap, i ran back to keep the cap bleeding, il2 comes straight at me, eats main gun lead, wing off..9 down biggrin Cap is starting to go blue now and i turn to face the way other planes will come, sure enough..p47 fully loaded coming in and an Il2 beside him. Keep moving, heartbeat pumping, face them, elevate, fire off mgs and line up the P47 ..wait..wait..boom, right in the kisser, plane down ! Bombs all around me as arty has started falling from a tank somewhere, il2 rockets and bombs going off beside me..but the cap is ours !

Madness, felt like full scale desperate war with no holds barred biggrin

Need to go and have a rest now, i think that game took whatever i had left this week and burned it up goodnight

Insane. Sounds like a lot more than dumb luck. I've had nothing to brag about lately, my best ever so far is still a five kill + two assists.

Still haven't nailed a flyboy with a main gun shot. Had a one sided duel yesterday with a Stuka who seemed to have made it his mission in life to kill only me - I went under bridges, under trees, under rocks and he kept circling until I emerged and he could strafe me again. Had to call over a flakboy to knock him down. Bit hard to plink a Stuka with an Su85.

I'm focused at the moment at moving down the Russian heavy tree so I can get on the right end of one of those IS3 barrels...my luck I'll get there and they'll change the DM.

Not my best ever score, but one of my most satisfying ever!

Am working my way down to the IS3...got the IS1 now and took it out for a run tonight.

On the Poland map, hill south of the lake, sitting at the windmill waiting for the enemy to appear while we took the cap there. Sun in our eyes. I see some shapes moving...one...two...crap...three....four! Foot to the floor I start backing the eff up! They take out our guy on the cap. I'm still backing. From beyond the grave he calls them in as four Tigers (actually it was 2 Tigers, 1 Jagdpanzer IV and a Panzer IV.) I'm all alone, trying to snuggle into a defile. They blow through our cap heading for our spawn and I've managed to back as far as the incline by the lake so I am now on their left flank and...

After the last one brewed up I took back our Cap and it was soon game over. I rarely get one as sweet as that!

It isn't the tank that matters...mostly.

The Eastern Front scenario that they ran a couple of days ago. In game there was a lot of whining and tears ( i couldn't pass out tissues fast enough) about how the T34's were raping the victories. I was playing T34 as i hadn't played the low tier tank for quite a while and decided to change out to the F2 and lend a hand to the poor F2 whiners.

T34 match -

F2 match -

Hmmm I nailed a JU-87 with my lowly PzII 20mm. Does that count? With the rate of fire it feels like an honorary SPAAG biggrin

I started flying again after a long hiatus (they bricked my beloved Lancaster). I joined in a realistic battle on the Norway map and took my Tempest up. I started off trying to escort a couple of B-17s but we got bounced by 2 Bf-109s and an FW-190 and both bombers got smoked by the 109s after I latched onto the 190. The 190 pilot was very good and we ended up in a low alt, near stall speed e-fight. I had a bit more alt than he did so I was able to pull up into a stall then roll over and smoke him as he tried to turn and climb to get a shot at where he thought I'd drop into.

By this time I'd lost all my teammates but one guy in an F-82 and there were 4 more Germans left. We were both at low alt but fairly close so we linked up and started to climb. A 109 dropped down from the clouds and went for the F-82 but missed. He must have been totally target fixated because he didn't even try to evade when I rolled in on his six and he went down with a short burst.

We continued to climb again and got bounced from the clouds again but by a 190 this time. He dove in on my seven high but had too much E and couldn't pull into my turn. He proceeded to piss all his E away by pulling hard to try for a high angle shot at the F-82. I went up and over, cut the angle and dove down onto where I thought his flight path would take him. He didn't disappoint and I got a pilot kill from a burst I fired through the top of his cockpit.

We were both getting low on fuel and ammo and so decided to head back to base only to find it getting shot up by an Me 410. It did enough damage to let the AI ground forces take the base but it left him open for an easy shot. He was busy strafing some AAA so I simply went into a shallow dive and fired into his path from his 10 o'clock.

Then the AI flak from the newly flipped base opened up. The F-82 lost one of his engines and I took a bad hit in the wing and had a smoking engine.

We'd both assumed we'd lost and were going to go out by trying to take out as many AAA guns as we could when the final German pilot offered up a nice little gift and came in on the deck in a Do-217. He blew up a destroyer and then turned for home. Even with my engine burning out, there was no way he was going to outrun me. I was kind of stupid in that I went after him from level alt at 6 o'clock but I got lucky and his rear gunner didn't do much. I had a little trouble actually hitting him but I was finally able to saw a wing off. Ace in a day!

I don't think I've done that well at Tier IV in quite a long time.

Havent had a run in a Tiger for ages, but now that I got my IS3 I decided to go back to the old kitty kat and it served me well. Got a PB.

Not in points... but in kills

Them IS1s has tough hides. Two Tigers and one Hetzer took about a six point blank shots to kill one in this fight.

not "the best" result, but I´m just pretty happy to have shot down a B17 and a B29 at 5k without getting a single hit on me.. and even adding a yak9.. while flying the J7W1

just kidding..

but I do consider the J7W1 fun, I allways wanted a model kit of it as a kid but never got one, so that´s my excuse here.. and for a short review:

The J7 is not a "figther"-fighter for it´s tier, as you get matched with the jets and so on.. but it has decent acceleration, ok speed and not too bad maneuverability and thus it kinda feels similar to the matches you have in a zero: you need to decidely dive on each and everything but when they let you, you gonna have a good time. The 4x30mm can take out B29s in a single pass and shot.. if you come in frontally. But for some strange reasons 3-4 hits on a meteor with stock ammo might just get shrugged off unimpressed... Don´t ask, it´s WT.

the modules take a hell of a grind to unlock, but there a few and especially different from the historic counterpart is that it has 0 overheating problems even full stock. You also get some light bombs, stock, but thats a tiny bit pointless in the G8/B29 environment you spawn in..

Very fun, nice cockpit (with slightly insecurely stored oxigen bottles...)

--------------------------------
another little bragging: After pouring tons of rifle caliber ammo into He111s, I switched to unguided missles in the rata and shot 3 down.. for some reasons it only gave me 2 awards, though. 35 bloody hits, 4 crits.. 3 of which where caused by 82mm rockets.

Cool. I am trundling around on the ground in this beast at the moment whenever tier V sim fight offers itself (IS4m):

Trying to learn its ups and downs, which seem to me to be:

+ Very rarely can anything kill it from the front (has to hit 'just right'), but M60 or 103 can one-shot kill it from the sides
- But you have to be sure to get your kill in one shot yourself or be in good cover because you have time to go mow the lawns (in RL) between reloads even with gunner/loader crew skills maxed eg I got killed by a Patton that put four shells into me while I was waiting to reload after he knocked out a track.

Tier 5 used to be a Soviet walkover but is not so much anymore since the US got the M60 and 103. Still prefer to play Russian side in Tier 5 tho - better chance of surviving than USA as I don't have the M60.

wow, that beast looks massive.. I´ve just only gotten to the T-50 today, because I don´t do groundforces much..

but back to bragging: as stated elsewhere, this 11 kill sortie from Karaya was fun to watch..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xygoQRMP5cg

...not that I would have anything to bragg there.

Kameraden,

Here is my best to date (12 kills - 35 hits), much fun and very busy. Rest of the team didn't do much though.

Holy crud, 12 kills! I can get 35 hits, but that's usually if I'm in an M18 or Sherman because every Tiger takes 5-10 hits to kill!
