I'm still surprised Pegg is co-writing the script. I mean I know he's a HUGE SF fan (just watch Spaced for proof) but this is a big leap from his previous writing gigs.

If the Borg never ever ever ever ever ever appear in Star Trek again, it is too soon.

It's the problem of making an adversary that's too strong. You then have to come up with far-fetched solutions to beat them.

Oh you're no fun. They killed Spock and brought him back right after in the sequel; Star Trek is all about the "just kiddings" wink

They didn't even wait for the sequel to bring back Data and Kirk in the last few films. smile

Anyway, I want the villain to be Loki. Hiddleston would work great, and it's about time we get a Star Trek/Marvel crossover.
How about Guardians of the Galaxy 2: The Undiscovered Country? I'd love to see Spock interact with Rocket and Groot.

Interesting you bring that up because it seems that Paramount and Justin Lin and going in that direction with the next Star Trek film. Not a crossover of course but I mean making Star Trek much more like Guardians in tone and style.

So...I'm thinking 90's soundtrack for ST "3" seeing as we've already had 90's Beastie songs in the two Abrams Treks, so it seems that is Kirk's thing, like Quill's is 70s.

Let's hear some good Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP, Smashing Pumpkins, maybe some Coolio or Metallica or Meatloaf!!

Daystrom would make a good B-storyline character. In other words, the film seems to start with that and then BAM Klingon War and then Daystrom helps make fully automated "drone" starships to help defeat the Klingons with less loss of life on the Federation side. He gets to do stuff in the beginning of the film, then later in the beginning of act 3 comes up with the solution to his faulty AI and gets the drones working under his control from the Enterprise as Kirk and company bring the fight to the Klingons.
Kirk saves the day with assistance from Daystrom.

Gary Seven. He's a good guy, but it's easy to see how he could run contrary to Starfleet objectives. That would be a more interesting tension than good vs evil...

I think they need to remake Turnabout Intruder. I wanna see Chris Pine shout "MUTINY!!!" with a hysterical edge to it.
