My German mission flew along at 1750 feet for 15 minutes before I "ctrl+Q"ed it, and this has not been the first time it has happened either.

Try to change altitude setting to 10000 feet (in Workshop) for couple of missions, then back to Realistic. That worked for me.

The interesting thing is it has only happened on German missions, never on British or French missions.

Yes, it certainly seems to happen without the mod - not sure if the mod makes it happen more. Another similar oddity, which is rather more annoying and possibly related, is the Flight sometimes becoming 'stuck' whilst circling just before the climb-out to altitude. The Flight will just fly around in circles, and will even sometimes loose altitude until they all crash. When this happens I usually assume a 'washout' and head off on my own or land back at the home field. "I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky" It is approaching that time of year again... I will soon not have much time for working on the mod, as the sailing season gets underway (already booked for a long-ish yacht delivery). I think the mod is working OK, but if anyone would like any changes or has any suggestions for improving it, please let me know soon, as I won't have the time again until the late autumn B.

Yeah, its fun, though I am a 'fair weather' coastal sailor rather than 'blue water' type - and Hornblower didn't have to contend with huge oil tankers and container ships bearing down on him at speed.'Sail before steam' don't apply in that case, as they are 'restricted by draught' and clipping along at up to 10 knots! In some fundamental ways, sailing is a bit like flying. The keel and sails are like wings, but turned through 90 degrees, and sailing upwind the sails generate the 'lift' that gives the boat its forward motion. And you still have the freedom to go where you want. I just got back from a rigging course where, amongst other things, we were looking at turn buckles and the tensioning of the wires of the standing rigging (still done largely by eye, and by feel), and it struck me how much those early biplane riggers must have had in common with sailing boat riggers. Many of the early aircraft designers were also keen sailors - Thomas Sopwith, for example, was a sailor and boat designer before he got into flying. I am lucky to live near the coast, and to have access to a sailing boat. Both Richard Woodman and Patrick O'Brien are good 'age of sail' authors, though I would recommend 'The Boat Who Wouldn't Float' by Canadian writer Farley Mowat to anyone contemplating the purchase of their own sailing yacht B.
