Do you use Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs in your cockpit? If so, then you know that the biggest pain in the butt is generating decent looking custom screens for the sims that you fly.
I finally created a useful template using PowerPoint. Each button label is a text box, so it's super-easy to simply over-write, change fonts, colors, etc. It prints out exactly the correct size to cut out and insert.
You can add images if you want. I made my screens for the DCS UH-1H Huey. I have a backlight arrangement for mine, so I print them on green cardstock. Looks pretty good! If you'd like a copy of the PowerPoint .ppt file to create your own, leave me a PM with your e-mail address.

Rhino,
Thanks for sending out the template. If you'd like, I can host a download link via my dropbox account for a few weeks, so you're not having to constantly send out emails.

Yeah, please distribute by any means you'd like!
I trust it worked in whatever version of PowerPoint you have?

How did you attach the MFD bezels to the screen?

First I removed the tilt frame I just used some low profile velcro (either 1" or 3/4") from Home Depot cut down the length of it to make it narrow and attached two sides of the MFD bezel to the monitor bezel. Then on the unsupported corner of the MFD bezel. I used one of the screws that was used to attach the tilt frame and partially screw it in that hole in the back of the MFD bezel so that it keeps the MFD bezel flush with the monitor bezel and keeps it from tilting if I press one of the buttons. Hope this is clear enough :-)

I like it. I have a small scrapped monitor in the garage that could be pressed into service like that. I'd have to get/make a new desk, though, to accommodate such an arrangement.

Rhino, I use a purpose built cockpit but you might be able to use the attachment method I used for my auxiliary monitor for your desk as well. I have a attached a pic of part of the clamp system. Basically it consists of two side pieces ( one shown), a mounting plate for the monitor which attaches to the side pieces on the angled part and a small horizontal piece (which sits in the two partially routed grooves) that keeps the spacing between the side pieces. It works like this -The monitor is attached to the monitor mounting plate using the monitors vesa pattern. -The side pieces are cut at whatever angle you would like them to be at to facilitate viewing -The "C" groove on the side pieces is sized slightly larger than your desk -The whole assembly just slides onto your desk and let gravity bind it up. (Optionally you could use a threaded insert in the horizontal piece to provide a set screw type pressure to keep it more secure.....I don't use one on mine and it is plenty secure I chose to make mine out of 3/4" plywood but other materials will work (its what I had from building the cockpit) Hope this helps :-) Tip - If you do this, use screws to hold the side pieces and horizontal piece together but use brad nails to fasten the monitor mounting plate to the side pieces. That way if you are not happy with the height you can easily pull the mounting plate out and adjust up or down and tap it back in place.

How did you attach the MFD bezels to the screen? I have my MFDs attached using "Glue Dots" to a thin Plexiglas screen I cut to fit on my monitor. It works well and its like a sticky note adhesive or the "boogers" glue they use to attach CDs to magazines. You can't see the Plexiglas at all.
