I've had my XB1 for over a year now, first bought the regular black one w/ a kinetc and a 500MB HD... and then later bought a CoD special XB! just because it has the 1 GB HD... ever since the beginning, on both Xbox One's and through all the updates and improvements, I've had the same problem with my Kinetc, contacting XB1 support at least a dozen times they always tell me the same thing... unplug everything, re-attach, then re-set the Kinetc, it then works for a few days without issue but then always and forever after a few days of working it starts, out of the blue, turning off and on... it's gotten to the point that I really can't count on it and don't use it... so I sent M$ and XBOX ONE support this video showcasing the problem... still waiting for a reply.
So if anyone of you know what's going on here, why? or anyone that works at M$ support... share this, see what you can do for me. PLEASE.
That said, I still love my Xbox One... loved the 360 slim better, wish I would of kept it and my 50+ games.
I had issues with my One up till I disables the quick off / standby.
I shut it all the way off, then when I need it, wait for it to boot.
Too many times I goto turn on and it locks up or just starts acting wonky (losing network, not connecting to Xbl, controllers not working, voice comms dropping etc).
Noticed it always happened every few days, and I'd have to unplug it and hard reset it because it would get stuck going to sleep, noticed when my brother.put it.to sleep the power led stayed white, and if the power in the house flickered it caused a crapton of.issues on the next wake up.
So I changed power settings to shut it off completely everytime abd all the problems I was having with network, controllers abd random lock ups or OS brainfarts went away.

got a response... don't use my $200 Monster surge protector, plug it straight into the wall... I did, same thing... new reply... keep it unplugged for 5 mins before plugging it into the direct outlet... really? lol so doing it, hell will do it for an hour or two to head them off on their next response.
My 360S had a bug, touching the sensor chip on the front PCB causing it to randomly turn on and off (unit would make the sound like I pressed power button and turn on/off on its own.)
Confirm by touching the chip with my finger to turn the unit on and off.
Had to remove front faceplate and put something over the sensor so it wouldnt be subject to the shorts.
After that, 360 Has been fine.
Also make sure PSU is vented, and everyonce and a while wipe off the front of the One with an electronic wipe, residue on the sensor can trigger it.
I can turn mine on/off by holding my hand 3/4 Of an inch in front of the sensor wuthout touching it, something (heat, static or light source) might be causing the sensor to trip.
Or a bug, like I said, my 360 had a roach leg touching the sensor triping the sensor.
Edit: mis read 1st post, forgot.it.was your kinect and not your console doing it.
Check cables etc wiggle them, twist them, etc test for a stressed joint/point.

I'll have to try that because I get the same problem with controllers & coms not working and a full unplug and reset is the only fix.
Never had this problem with my 360
A buddy had to call MS for something for his One and the guy told him holding the front power button for however long it takes to cut off will clear out something (memory cache? Can't remember exactly) and to do that periodically. When my One starts to act up thats what I do. Easier than moving my entertainment center to get to the surge protector.
