So, I'm thinking of parking my Cobra to try a little running of the rares trade. Any good builds for this? I understand that I'm not going to have much luck fighting the Lakon. Is the ship capable of running at all? Chaff and/or cells recommended? Just trying to build a survivable U-Haul. Deacon

Heat sinks for exploration mishaps and interdictions while fuel scooping. Lady runs hot.
I wouldn't try fighting the ship is reasonably manoeuvrable but really won't hold up in a fight. Just get some laser turrets to hold off anything until you can jump away.
I only used the type 6 for a few runs before I swapped to an Asp so maybe someone with more experience has some better ideas.

Depends what you want to do in your lakon.
Its got lot of module slots, if you really think you need protection. It does run hot, but no need for heat sinks. Heat of under 150 will cause no damage (well it didn't the last time I played)
A lot of people like to run it with no modules, no weapons and no shields for max cargo and jump range.
For me personally, I run it with no modules except fuel scoop, no weapons, but I do have shields (crazy stuff happens sometimes when docking)
Get rid of the discovery scanner, and also definitely get rid of the weapon. It really is useless on this bird.
You will want to hunt around for cargo modules, maxed out you should get 100 or more cargo space depending on what other stuff you want fitted.

I beg to differ on Heat Sinks.
I once jumped between two close binary stars and only survived with around 40 % hull left with using all my Heat Sinks. Second time I only survived because of the Heat Sinks when I was interdicted while fuel scooping and came to a emergency stop because of getting to near to the star. Charging the FSD when already starting at 95% heat is no fun without Heat Sinks. Don`t know if it is true, but I once read that gimballed weapons can be attracted from the dropped sinks, so this might help to escape too. Shield cells may be a good idea, as trying to escape is the only option, but it has no chance against fighter ships, I think there are few ships slower than a T6. So heaving enough time to survive until your FSD is charged is the only option. This rule is for Solo though, in Open it is said you`ll have no chance at all against human players.
Things may change with 1.2 as they change how the heat does damage (modules first)

I had weapons on my Lakon, but since I ran it with max cargo and no shields, I never really needed to use the weapons except to annoy the other guy. Chaff and heat sinks were more my thing. Sure, I'd take damage but I can usually run away and it'll only be a few thousand credits to fix.... when you're making about a hundred thousand credits in profit, it's not really a big deal.

Flying around in that Lakon 6 is not very relaxing, though. This thing really heats up, reaching 100 just by charging the drive. Getting intercepted while fuel-scooping is no fun at all, and makes that exercise quite exciting when other ships are around. Also having no weapons makes one feel quite naked and alone out there. Gotta get the money for that ASP quickly, because that kind of "space road truckin'" is not what I signed up for.

I hate to run from every random punk with a sidewinder and FSD interdictor. Running is not in my nature. In order to maximize jump range I am running without weapons and default shields. I seem to get interdicted twice on every trip, while in my Cobra I had been interdicted once every 3-4 trips. As if they can smell my weakness...
