Howdy folks, we've introduced a new mod pack for the server, known from now onwards as SHQV3. This completely replaces the current addon set and will be required for play from now on!! You can find the links in the sticky thread here http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3732626/SimHQ_Arma3_multiplayer_-_Star#Post3732626 THESE MODS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR NEXT WEEKS PLAY!!its a big download so get it downloaded now! So whats new? well theres new maps, new guns, new units, new ai settings (no more 10+ shots to kill em), as well as a ton of other little things that are mostly back end and wont ever be seen, just felt! Also just to clarify any doubts THESE MODS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR NEXT WEEKS PLAY!!

And for those wondering, yes you can totally delete the old V2 addons and maps.
You'll still need CBA, or course.

If you downloaded from the sticky, then you're up to date. If you downloaded from Meatshield's PM then he sent an update round (~600mb) in the same PM thread.

just a little note, the new sounds they introduced with the latest patch sound more tolerable if you remove the "tao_noclousersounds.pbo" from the @SHQV3/addon folder, wont break anything if you leave it in, its just a little sound tweak.

Does that relate to the mission comms traffic I am experiencing with SimHQ V3? Ai comms that is?
Fridge ---------- Things which do you no good in aviation: 1) Altitude above you; 2) Runway behind you; 3) Fuel in the truck; 4) The airspeed you don't have.

Some people were complaining about the ai chatter (Tanker,J'accuse!), so Meat put in a mod that removes it. Go into the mod and remove Agm_noradio to get the ai comes back. It won't break anything.

For further information, NoClosureSounds was a mod to disable the loud clicking noise that the bolt made on a lot of the guns. A lot of people were feeding back that it was unrealistically loud. The mod removed those sounds so the sound of the bullet was more prominent.
I believe the modpack introduces new sounds where the closure noises are less overbearing so you can bring them back by disabling the mod.

half right tao's fantastic little mod just removed the closure sounds, you can see a before and after here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_ImAvMmnfgBI however just introduced new gun sounds in the latest patch where the default guns actually sound a bit like a gun and not a plastic clicking toy, so whilst keeping taos mod in doesnt break anything at all (its just a little config tweak) the default guns sound a little bit better without it, of course if you use one of the many sound mods it has 0 effect anyway :P

There might be a _small_ problem with the opium, and maybe the trees, on the Fata map? Apparently you can't shoot through them. I had a CSAT guy hiding in the field and when I tracked him down, neither of us could kill the other, no matter the angle, grenades or guns. It's like the hit box for the opium bush was bullet proof and we were both sitting in it.
