...as President of the Albatros Aviators Club. With every other aircraft of my usual WOFF stable (Se5, Camel, Bristol, N17, and the Dr.1) I am hell on wheels..err...wings. All of the aforementioned planes have areas of strength that one can use in combat, and develop tactics around, to be successful. With the Alb DIII it just seems so "average" in all areas that I have a tough time developing a fighting style that seems to come so naturally in the other planes. I use your advice, and it works, but every combat against single seaters or Strutters is a hair raising event - and I do not always come out on top. And their flight performance is not lacking it appears.
I have to wonder how "Bloody April" became bloody for the RFC? Hehe... Well, we will keep trying until I make it work - or die trying! Again! Hats off to Alb aviators! Both in WOFF and 98 years ago. Uh oh...am flying now and here comes 70 Squadron (my latter Camel squadron) in their Strutters. Least we have them out numbered. Charge!

Well, what the Strutters do in WOFF is actually hilarious, Duke - it often seems to me as if the devs got accidently changed their fighting behvaiour with that of the Sopwith Camel or the Triplane. I have not read anywhere, that the Strutters would have engaged the Albatros D.III like that - they wouldn' have dared; the D.III was superiour. But in WOFF they are among the most aggressive planes. With this attitude AND flying abilities, they would have held their own, and "Bloody April" would have received another name.
What does the last sentence mean - that you were actually flying AND writing simultaneously? Well, here might lie a possible reason, why you get shot down often?

The Strutter and the Roland are two of the most aggressive and dangerous adversaries of 1916. I have rear guns set to "less accurate" and it still seems like every two seater has Vasily Zaytsev in the back seat...couple that with their nimble flight model and it usually just isn't worth the trouble!
The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

My DiD pilot was wintering in Alsace and encountered the single seat version. Much safer to attack with no rear gunner in it. Every flock of Strutters was exclusively 1B1...then it happened and he encountered a mixed squad. Luckily the rear gunners didn't take him out of action, just messed his DII up some in the handling dept.
