It's so obvious to me that Apple is ran by a bunch of liberals, (joking, not a political rank), They don't allow guns on their screenshots for games, and almost every WW2 game is rejected at first because they don't like other countries or political parties insulted, but then someone always pulls Apple's head out of their... and over rides it.
and now... Buzz Aldrin's Space Program manager has been rejected because to much Buzz... even thou he is a...what the heck is it called, calaberator? on it for Slitherine.
I'm sure someone will eventually get smart over there at Apple... soon.

I can see why you became a cop and not an English teacher Magnum.

Apple is basically totalitarian in running their company, which is a huge reason I refuse to support any of their generic products or suffer through their horrible enterprise support. If they don't have hardcore control over everything they'll throw a fit, and that affects everything from the app store to their customer support. Call me an Apple hater
God forbid there be a gun anywhere, or egad! a nipple.

The hilarious part is they were the ones that came out with that "1984" commercial implying that they were taking down the perceived Orwellian forms of business, and in today's age they themselves are the exact thing they advertised as fighting. Swap the face on the screen for Steve Jobs and make the police chasing the lady wearing white with apple logos on their helmets and the irony is beautiful.

Haha I hadn't seen that Buzz Aldrin video before, good for him!
Also good point Peally, I use some Apple stuff but they definitely engineer for the lowest common denominator and want to control everything which is the opposite of what they supposedly stand for in that commercial.
The only Apple product I own is an iPod 3. Which I got from Apple's marketing/PR folks a couple of years ago. News like the above do not help making their products more appealing to me.

What does it say right on the back of the iPhone? "Designed by Apple in California" Everything about the company has that sensibility. If you don't think you could stand living there, what makes you think you're going to agree with the politics and policies of a company based there?

I don't live for my smartphones, the only reason I got them was because they were cheap. Then I held onto my Galaxy S until the release of the S5 before I upgraded again because it just didn't matter to me.
If the things cost that much, then I just wouldn't have them. No big deal.

Same here. Used for idly browsing when bored, but other than that anything they do aside from calling people I can do with computers better.

Or you can just use a tablet. Much more portable than a desktop PC when you are not home and want to browse the net.

Not really. It follows the pocket rule. The phone is more useful for idly browsing because it is compact enough to fit in your pocket. Even if you are laying in bed the small size makes it easier to manage or get out / put away etc.
I have a laptop, tablet and my phone all on my night stand. I always grab my phone unless I need to type something and then I grab the laptop. The tablet just sits there unused for over a year now. Probably should get rid of it.
Tablets fill a niche I don't have a need for, I have an iPad from work sitting in the house but I use it extremely rarely. I'm apparently not the target market, I have a TV for TV, a phone for looking things up when somehow not near a PC, and a PC for everything else. Technology is so integrated today it's child's play to display my PC on any device if needed.
