Restarted a Alb career in 1917 with the new 2.05 patch, the now fixed (thru my error) Aces Mod, and new Workshop settings.
Beautiful day, blue sky, and lots of fluffy white clouds. The entire Jasta turns to attack a mixed group of French N23's and 17's but, due to the clouds we do not make contact but do bump into 8 Se's from 56 Squadron from around another cloud.
Have clouds set to 5 in the Workshop so the AI is effected by visibility restrictions as well as the player. I do fly with the TAC on, mainly for navigation, and no planes show on it as the combat is taking place inside and in the fringes of the clouds.
Somehow I assume that if the Tac is blank the AI is blinded. I presumed overly much!
Swirl around once or two and somewhat dimly see a Se5 trying to get on the tail of a Alb in the misty fringes. Stupidly I make for him not looking around thinking I am safe from AI eyes not realizing that if the AI Se is dogfighting the AI Alb then, realistically enough as I can visually see them just fine, they also see each other despite the fogginess.
Move in for an easy victory, so I think, when bam, bam, bam. I am hit from behind by an Se nice and close on my tail and I crash to my death. *Sigh* Another WOFF life lesson learned.
No "gamey" tricks in cloud combat. If you can see them then they can see you.
