I have a favor to ask of you guys, could someone provide me with a template or a form that you use when filling out claim forms. Right now, I write a short description of the action, but I would like to have something that looks more military, if you know what I mean. Any help would be appreciated.

Foundthis interesting page in WIKI:

WIKI: Aerial_victory_standards_of_World_War_I

If not a help, it is still at least interesting to know.

Very interesting. And it backs up a point I was making in another thread.
So much so I am going to steal it for there also.
Thanks Olham!

Oldhat, how did you practically use that reporting system? Did you alt-tab out of the game, write the report, copy it and then alt-tab back into the game and paste it? Sorry if that sounds like a dumb question.

That's exactly what I used to do. It works.

Don't get too technical with what words work and don't it will often ruin the immersion - you aren't trying to "beat the game" you are trying to be immersed in WW1. Just describe it as you would

Craft type seen, colour, where abouts, what you did, how much ammo you used whatever, what happened to him, Out of control, crashed, etc.

Not trying to beat the game at all, I'm trying to add even more historical flavor. I just felt that my current free flowing descriptions probably weren't what they would usually use since these claim forms went up the chain, so to speak. Thanks Arifuser for the confirmation, I'll try this tonight.

How tough would it be to put an actual RFC looking claim form as the claims screen and have the player fill in the blanks?
That would be cool. Of course different forms for the different nationalities may be tough for the game engine.
And, of course again, I have no idea what the German or French form looks like either.

As Pol said, no need to get too specific. Most important: your witness must have been close enough.

But if you just like to see a historical claim by Manfred von Richthofen (his 80th victory) - here comes,
incl. translation; and at the bottom the confirmation.
It is from 20 April, 1918 - only one day later, von Richthofen fell himslef.
The confirmation came on May 26, over a month after his death.

You go SOG!

And thanks Olham - except for the obvious language difference it's actually quite similar in format to the RFC form.

Thanks Olham, that actually looks like one of my combat claim forms. Where on earth do you find this stuff Olham, it's always fascinating?

Oldhat, I just used that template you suggested. I had one problem, I could copy and paste the text but I couldn't copy and paste the drop down menu selections. What was I doing wrong?

It didn't give me any problems in copy/paste into the WOFF claim form, but I'm using Word 2007. I'm not familiar enough with MS Word to troubleshoot problems, but I suggest you make your own case report template and that should work.

This was sent to me by our forum member JFM (James F. Miller); he wrote an interesting
book about MvR (among other publications about Albatros aircraft).

Greetings,

I believe that you're mentioning the template that I did some time ago to create a claim form.
So what you need to do it is:
1- First you to download the template file and/or open it with Microsoft Word (version 2007 or later) - There are two template files, one to the used when flying/playing for the allies and the other when flying/playing for the Germans.
2- Then you need to use all the drop boxes and text boxes to fill and complete your claim form.
3- Copy the claim form when completed.
4- Paste it on WOFF's claim form.

Hope it helps. If you need any further help, feel free to ask.
