Hi guys,

Someone has e-mailed me asking about an issue in LB2, specifically they're using my latest fix package but I don't think it's really related to that... as essentially it's just the installed game.

They said that when they try to play single missions, the red loading bar only moves to one or two spaces before reverting back to the mission menu.

I don't recall this issue being reported before and unless it happens to me I've no way of testing it or trying to fix it.

Man, I'm so out of it I can't even remember the process... but I don't think that there were red loading bars just for a mission load, unless the game was loading a new terrain set? In which case the game is creating an issue with terrain decompression for some reason.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

hey Flyboy

Man, I would love to help you but (thankfully) I have never seen red bars while loading.

I am trying to figure out a problem myself. I've been happily enjoying LB2 until recently on my new pc. Now (since about a month or so) it constantly crashes.

Same here. Don't ever remember red bars. I just tried it to see if I was misremembering. I loaded one of the Canned Single Missions (AZR 3,0) and it loaded in a flash. This is generally what I recall, a very quick transition to the mission after hitting FLY.

Question: Was this one of the included Pre-generated Single Missions, some other user's custom made Single mission or one of the Quick Mission options from the right side of the screen?

The Punisher - Sorry to hear that... let us know how you get on!

Recluse - From what I remember the red bars appear when decompressing a new terrain set. You're obviously trying a mission which uses the terrain set that's already decompressed. The stock pre-scripted single missions, I believe.

Man, I really need to re-install this game. It's getting to the point where I'm not even sure of basic details anymore.

Thanks Flyboy! In order not to hijack your tread, I posted on your "Longbow 2 Windows XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/+ Fix (V3)" section.

Yep.. I specifically chose one that didn't need decompression. Wasn't clear from the original problem that it was during decompression.. sorry wink

Also, as you may know, I mount an .iso with Daemon Tools, so decompression is probably quicker anyway. Could be a scratched CD or something if it is decomp related. In that case, I would ask if the issue occurs on all the terrains (NTC is on Disc 1 while the AZR terrains are on Disc 2)
