The 63rd Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by “Fresh from Florida” takes the green flag at 10:15 am on Saturday, March 21st. Gates open Wednesday, March 18, 2015 and remain open 24 hours a day through Saturday. (and I will be there!)

That's the real IMSA SportsCar race series date, but before that date, I am hosting a open, first come, first serve, multiplayer game utilizing Forza Motorsport 5 on the Xbox One game console.

"12 laps of Sebring", sure it's not really an endurance race with only 12 laps... but a chance to race in a great game and prep for the real race the following week, either in person or maybe through another game like iRacing. The Xbox One only supports 16 players, but don't worry, these rarely fill up with a full grid. BUT to make it interesting a $50 Xbox One Gift Card will go to the winner of the race. (dependent on at least 6 people showing.) At about 2 mins per lap the race will be only 24 mins, plan up to 30 to be safe... anyone can find the time to do that, so join in, make it worth it.

Race Details:

03/14/2015 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM Eastern time.

12 laps at Sebring International Raceway (full)

16 Random Grid Starts

Must use one of these 3 cars, all setup for a 900 race index.

(BTW you can currently go to rival mode, select the monthly rivals, and you'll see these 3 cars selectable at Sebring... check your rival times, see how your comparing to your friends, and practice for this race.)

#4 Corvette

#92 BMW

#62 Ferrari

Sim damage is enabled, so drive it like you own it... but all other options and views are your choice. (Due to lack of proper support for wheels, most of us will be on gamepad.)

The race will be live broadcasted at: http://www.twitch.tv/ankenbauer

You do not need to sign up, just make sure I am on your XB1 friends list (Magnum9846), have the game running so I know your interested in racing and I will invite all my friends with the game running, we will be using the in game comms, so no party needs to be started, (that cuts into game bandwidth.) But if you do plan on trying to be there wouldn't hurt to reply here with your interest, just so I can gauge interest.

Good Luck!

Cool I'll be up for this if I'm not working that weekend, won't know until that day.

I don't have a wheel for FM5 though so with the controller I'm not as clean a driver as I am on FM4 and PC.

because only 3 that represent the actual cars in the race. and all in one class, wouldn't make sennse to have multiple classes with what 6 to 8 races.

Gotta admit, I'm a little intrigued with this. I could connect my TX wheel, if I'm so inclined to rip it out of my PC cockpit. Or I could connect my Xbox One to my PC monitors. Too bad it doesn't support triple screens.

I haven't touched FM5 for about 4 months. Would need to practice.

it's like $80 for the "Adapter" + more for the X360 Wireless receiver, you get good 1:1 ratio (supposedly), but no ForceFeedback

I say Supposedly, because when the car is stopped the steering wheel is 1:1, but when the car is moving, there is a dampening effect (turn wheel 90’ degrees, but the in game wheel only turns 20 or so (the normal input dampening present when using a controller).

With a wheel you should be able to turn the steering wheel 90 degrees while moving, and still have 1:1 with no dampening, your front tires will lose grip and you'll continue forward.

if this was in FM4 I'd be all over it in a heartbeat,

I was never able to get FM3/4 to work like FM2 w/ Networked Cockpits.

The Thrustmaster works perfectly with the XBO with no need for adapters.

However there is an adapter that would allow Logitech wheels to work (G25, G27 & DFGT). Ricmotech sells it but it's not cheap but a lot a cheaper than the TX wheel.

Afaik, thrustmaster lost their license to produce XBO accessories, or at least thats the rumor, as all tue TM wheel have been removed from MS's store etc.

Fanatec has a license now, and plans to make an adapter via wheel base.

Ok, so, wait. You're telling me that my TX wheel will no longer work with the Xbox One?!?!?!?!?! The very same wheel that I HAD to buy if I wanted a wheel to use with the XBO and the PC just a few short months ago???

When did this happen? I haven't played FM5 with my wheel in several months.

The Thrustmaster website still shows that the TX wheel is supported on PC and Xbox One. It also shows my TH8A shifter and the T3PA pedals (which I have on order) are supported by the PC and Xbox One.

Phew. You scared me there for a minute.

Not that it matters too much right now. If I never played FM5 again it wouldn't bother me. I've been disappointed with it.

FM5, like half the EA Fall sports titles was stripped of features to make the launch window.

Dang it man! I was feeling good with my lap. Lol Welp back to the drawing board!

Good lap. I beat your old lap last night in the Ferrari but only by half a second. I decided to give the Vette a try today and it was awesome!

Great video.

Really nice driving, especially with the controller thumbsup

I'll have to try this rivals race with you guys, although my skills with the controller are not as smooth as I see in that video.

I remember testing those with Xbox/FM a looong tine ago..

The XBO versions pop off due to the textured thumbstick.
