I'm gearing up to start a MiG-21 pit build, and cannot for the life of me find any info on the dimensions of the panels. Does anyone have a good source I can use to get rolling?
That blog is a really great resource! Really informative.
For example, I never realized how awesome the Mig-21 looked from this angle:
My Rig:i5-3570k @ 4.2 GHZ W/ Corsair Hydro H110 Cooler / Asus Sabertooth Z77 Mobo / GTX 1070/ 16 Gigs DDR3 RAM / A Few SSDs, and a Bunch of HDDs / All held together by: Corsair C70 Case
Other Assets Deployed: HOTAS: Thrustmaster Warthog SN#22621/CH Throttle Quad/MFG Crosswind Pedals SN#0004 TrackIR TIR 5 w/ TrackClip Pro Simpit: Obutto R3VOLUTION
Just got an email from Paul..Mig21 panel is.. The centre panel is made of 2mm thick aluminium with rolled over edges, it is 32cm wide and 34 cm high (in the middle), the 2 side panels are approx. 10.6 cm wide.
Most of the gauges are 80mm in diameter with mounting holes 81mm in diameter, the exceptions being the artificial horizon which is 110mm in diameter with a 111mm diameter hole, the air pressure gauge (I think for brakes) is 60mm diam in a 61mm hole and the 2 small gauges at the bottom are 40mm diam in 41mm diam holes.
The hole for the rectangular warning panel in the lower centre is 31mm wide and 76mm high.
Send me an image of dimension lines you need and next time I visit the local aviation museum I can measure those for you. I have access to a MiG-21BiS cockpit.
