This is a quick three-video series covering the initial tutorial phase of the first campaign in Il-2: BOS. I had intended for it to be more focused on the Il-2 Sturmovik but the missions took me down a slightly different path. I am going to branch the coverage off into a separate "Test Flight" series covering the Il-2 and pick up the campaign again in a separate series following these first three videos.

I can already tell from the comments on Youtube that there are mixed feelings about the sim. I'm not into giving reviews so I'll let the videos speak for themselves, good or bad. I can definitely say, however, that what you see here in the tutorial is not at all the gameplay experience you will see further into the campaign once all the "training wheels" are turned off.

There is more to come on Il-2: BOS shortly as I compile and upload everything else but feel free to check out some other stuff in the meantime:

Su-25 Frogfoot - Cold War Warrior Campaign
DCS: A-10C Warthog - Khashuri Gap with Tacview
DCS: A-10C Warthog - Day Advance on Kislovsk with Combined Arms
DCS: A-10C Warthog - Night Advance on Ozurgeti with Combined Arms
DCS: F-86 Sabre - First Jet Strike Fighter
DCS: UH-1H Huey - Stray Eagle

I like what you are doing and look forward to more. I also subscribed.

Can I ask what flight stick you are using? I noticed on that ground strike that your nose was rock solid. When I tried that mission it was like riding a bucking bronco! My poor flying skills,my cheap joystick or both?

Thanks Chucky, part 2 is up.

I have a TM Warthog Stick and Throttle. All credit goes to the stick because there was no flying skill involved. smile

Looking at all the sims you play I guessed you would have something like that.

I want a new stick but I don't play modern sims, just WW1/2 and Elite Dangerous. If only someone made a WW2 style stick.

Hi Bunyap. Are you going to continue with this series? I've seen the first 3.
