The original, remachined Uber-Cougar? Well, that changes things!

Unfortunately, I don't know of any other springs designed to fit that gimbal. Guess you'll just have to find a local shop that makes springs and ask them if they'll make some lighter-sprung ones that'll fit.

I could be wrong about the name but I think this was among the first mods sold to the Cougar. No re-machined gimbal, just improved stock along with ball bearings and uses TM's stiff original springs.

More bad news...

Received email from TM, they DO NOT have spare parts (flightstick gimbals) for my Cougar.

Troll will send me the spares that he has but I will need to mod both Cougars at some point, I like what info you guys have given me so far, So I'll look into everything. Thanks everyone for your help!

If anyone else has information on upgrades to pass on please post it, I'm open to all suggestions

Hi folks,

Quick question, does any in the forum use (or knows of anyone using) the FSSB flight stick mod for the COUGAR?
I came across this website: http://www.realsimulator.com/html/fssb.html
Looks interesting.

Thanks
BE

Well from what I hear it is a really good mod especially if all you plan to fly is the F16.. I want to get one too..

I have had the FSSB-R2 for years. It is the best mod for Cougar stick.....it is force sensing. Precision is awesome and ultra realistic for the F-16. Anything else you'd like to know?

Thanks for the response Icarus1, I checked out the website and I really like what I was reading so guess I'm going with the FSSB setup (still deciding on R1 or R2).

Thanks EVERYONE who responded to this thread, your help has be invaluable!
