Ha. Cute song and just what I expected it to be. Glad to see husband/wife relationships really have not changed much over the last 100 years. While I was there I also found "Darktown Strutters Ball" - reportedly the squadron song for 56 Squadron.

Yes, they also report being "cannoné", or suffer a "cannonade".

For the slang terms, yes I also think it was only used by ground troops to describe what was coming on them.
