I just spent 15 minutes or so doing a quick anti balloon mission in an Albatross II. I quickly forgot about the mission with my admiration for the scenery and effects. Ended up landing behind enemy lines! I escaped after 1 day though. Easy to take your eye off the ball in this sim, so many good things to see. Thanks devs wave

I hear ya Baxter.
I have had a couple of occasions where - engine purring like a kitten, sunshine, white clouds, nice terrain, just gliding along - where I actually got a little drowsy from being so relaxed with the moment.
Luckily there is usually a "rat-a-tat-tat" from my rear to get the old brain pumping again.

Welcome over Flanders fields, Baxter!
You'll see, it doesn't seem to wear off - I am still marvelling mostly all the time.

Welcome to the WW1 flyers club!

The sim in my humble opinion comes top of the list of greatest sims of all time. Especially for a single player experience.

I've been continuously amazed since 2.0 came out how I never even new I was missing cloud and tree shadows until they were there! It's amazing how much they add..

Thanks guys and hello to everyone. I am not really a new pilot. I have been dabbling with sims for decades. I used to fly Wings of War for example back when that and RB was Polovski's sim of choice. I do like this one though along with First Eagles 2. It seems to have more atmosphere to it than RoF.

Yeah, unfortunately ROF's revenue stream plan makes it awesome on planes but lackluster on immersive environments in which to fly them... I really wanted that venture to be successful but could just never get very far behind them. Did get the ICE pack way back, I go up for a spin every now and again...
