So I am building this computer and now I am stuck on connecting to the internet.
The motherboard is a ASROCK Z97 PRO.
I managed to get the CPU on the MB, the memory, the drives all connected.
I created a bit. I had a hard drive that was a mirror of one of the hard drives on my backup computer. It had the WINDOWS 7 on it and a few of the basic programs I like. That worked just fine. I could boot up just fine. But then I decided to mirror that onto an SSD and then swapped that out and brought up the computer with that SSD. All booted up nicely.
So all seems to be fine. Time to connect to the internet. No Joy.
I am sure the motherboard has the 'networking hardware' I need. It does have the LAN line connection that plugs right into the port that has painted on in "Intel Gigabit Ethernet". In this woe of troubles I tested the connection by connecting the line to the old backup pc and all is good.
So I think maybe I have to make a network or something.
I went to Control panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center
and clicked on 'Set up new connection or network"
then clicked on
"Connect to the Internet" and clicked on the NEXT button.
Window came back with message "Windows did not detect any networking hardware".
I have no issue with installing WINDOWS 7 from scratch if that is what I must do. I bought the disk and am totally legal that way. But all I can think of is that this is all caused because I am using a mirrored OS from a different PC.
Any suggestions?
