Very interesting era, muskets and crossbows, pikes and horsemen, new tactics being devised.

However when it comes to games there doesn't seem to be much out there, there's some Grand Strategy games, a few tabletop games but I can't seem to find any where you actually control an army on the field. Are there any? Or do I have to settle for a modded Total War game?

There is the 'Fire and Sword' expansion for Mount and Blade, which was great fun, but it's really more of an RPG than strategy. Thanks smile

HPS Musket & Pike: The Renaissance

"Renaissance covers a fascinating century of warfare, from the close of the Medieval era to the eve of the Thirty Years War. The period starts with the French invasion of Italy in 1494 and the armies are still largely Medieval in weaponry and organization."

Thanks for the suggestions, they both look interesting, (especially Pike and Shot) and I'll have to check them out.
It's been a long time since I played one of those 'hex' games and I'll admit I wasn't very good at them. Still worth a shot though, never know when you find a gem. Thanks.

Edit: After a few sessions I can say that 'Pike and Shot' is a pretty good game!
