Okay this thread was enjoyable for a while, but once posters start focusing on other posters and not the game, it loses it's entertainment factor

Gentlemen, I need to be entertained wink

Maybe it is the BoS Mods and not the customer base that has CD.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

Isn't Monday Groundhog Day?

Will we see a shadow?

BOS is not a shadow of the game they claim to be the successor to, so probably not.

Maybe they will announce that the game they released was a practical joke just to see how we would react and that on Monday they release the proper game, the true successor to IL-2? and we'll all laugh together at how funny it all was and hug and stuff?

People will realize this soon. If the campaign was awesome, unlocks would not be such an issue. Because the campaign is horrible, unlocks feel cheap, dumb, and utterly useless.

Call this Campaign is a bit forced.
After Pe-2, He-111, IL-2 I start unlock Ju-87 weapons, and suddenly after finish one mission, repeated for the umpteenth time, is show a cut scene with people - in actual days - visiting the Mamayev Kurgan Memorial, some "remember the fallen" message and the "Campaign" is over... ???

But the unlock "fest" game still open. hahaha rolleyes

Thats not True for me and many others,, Unlocks don't work with 60 hour work weeks and a family.
Unlocks would ruin it for me even if there was a interesting historical campaign.

There is a reason there have never been unlocks used in any flight sim and it has been discussed in a multiple beta forums that I have been at over the years.
The flight sim market has a large consumer base of adults that don't have the time to deal with unlocks.

Yes you can finish the campaign without completing all the points or unlocks since I think it only takes six sucessful missions per chapter to advance to the next one. But you can go back and play any chapter again to keep getting points.

If they announce some kind of pay for unlocks system they might as well shut the whole show down now.

It would really be the last straw.

Most probably their route.

When people used x16 time they noticed not everyone was unhappy so they reduced it to x2.

They enjoy to piss their customers off so rather then letting goldbars include unlocked content they'd rather have us gold-muppets pay even more to get there.

Always heading directly opposite to what seems reasonable is the way they work.

Next time I sell my car I'll keep the keys and when the buyer asks for it I'll say thats an extra $1000.

I think the premium customers will get unlock free game and the basic version will have to grind.

Asking the premium customers for more money would be the last nail in the coffin.
I hope they realize that.

The decision to limit the time speed to x2 was the first clear indicator the unlocks were there to earn money.

It was done so that owners of the Russian 10 dollar version of the game couldnt unlock all the premium content (planes and mods) just by using x16 speed. If they really wanted it, they would have to pay for the full version of the game.

It was inevitable they would apply the same logic to the full game.

So my prediction for this announcement:

- We are releasing a cheap/free version of the game to everyone
- If you want the full game, with all unlocks, it will cost you 90 bucks
- You can buy all the unlocks or individual planes separately for 20 bucks per 'mod pack' but we expect most current owners to already have unlocked most of the content. If they haven't they get a special discount price for the mod pack of 15 bucks.

Well surely they can't just get rid of the unlocks for gold / silver bars at this point, because some people like Sharpe and Dakpilot think its the best part of the game and it would hardly be fair to them to just remove them...

It would suck to be one of the ones who have suffered through the grind to unlock all that stuff and then have the Devs unlock everything by decree, lol. duh

If they do take away the unlocks what am I supposed to do then? As a SP player the campaign just does not cut it. boring tedious repetative missions just don't hold my interest.
MP is not my thing anymore, so what does that leave me? Not a lot to be honest.

SharpeXB, have you given a thought to you're really not doing your cause any favours... even when your own side criticizes your comments, you should realise its over. (hint... you might like unlocks... no-one else it seems, does)

as for the pending announcement, let's just wait to hear exactly what it is and take it from there - everything else is just conjecture
