Think of the mighty missions one can create over Stalingrad with Cyberolas RRR version. Looking forward to fly what BoS should've been.
(but I'aint'bitter haha) Well that is kind of an unrealistic notion don't you think? There was no way that BoS could have been what CFM will be.. or HSFX.. or even stock 1946 for that matter.. are at this point in it's life. He's talking about the improved Stalingrad maps which will be featured in CFM

Well while I think that IL2 is still the best pound for pound WWII CFS ever made.. visually IMO BoS is very hard to beat.. retextures or no.. but I still get a great deal of enjoyment out of IL2.. I never stopped flying it so I am looking forward to the CFM... I was hoping it would be out by this weekend.
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

"At the moment the focus is to continue crunching and retesting over and over again as we want CFM to be the very best. We are all very confident that this will be the case as Simon, Marcus and I have always set a very high standard and are not willing to settle for second best. The result will be much tidier and more importantly, the very latest updates compressed and ready even for the TD413 patch. Better still, we can remove all previous dependency so that this is a one stop install with everything in there.
We have integrated many new mods - the very latest - and prepared the ground for later patches too, so that CFM is rock solid. We still have a fair bit to tidy up, more than we estimated earlier. If you saw the totality of the code we are dealing with it would blow your mind! But we have a firm handle on it and really are on the final straightaway.
We all understand that there is a good bit of excitement on this Forum and a lot of you have many questions, most that can be answered as Simon has been doing, however I have offered to take up some of the slack and answer questions when I am able to as well. This will enable Simon to continue with his shakedown testing and crunching which is as you know, is all in the nature of Modding. Every time he pops up to answer questions it takes him away from his concentration. At this moment it is a critical time.
I'm sure he will probably disagree, but nevertheless...Please be patient folks. CFM will get there when it gets there." END RDDR quote.
OK, well not this weekend.
The good news, it will be 4.13 ready and will remove all previous dependency so that this is a one stop install with everything in there. Worth a bit longer wait

NOT YET.
From UberDemon 1-27-14 Re: TFM-412 The Next Level « Reply #2169 on: Yesterday at 11:02:02 PM » ReplyQuote Everyone,
"I recommend lots of patience. When CFM comes out, it will be in its own thread, and most likely this thread will be locked. Monty had a pretty good reason to decide to delay CFM, and the decision came right before the original release of last Sunday/Monday.
I tested a few versions of CFM to include the version which was about to be released, and I can tell you as it is, it is very, very stable. It brings new life to IL-2, but Monty is the boss, it is his project. All I can say is that he had a really good reason.
The short story without going into details is that he and his team were already working on some better features which would better integrate a myriad of Mods and content into IL-2 which would be much more stable and polished as a release.
Also they are going through painstaking efforts to eliminate a lot of conflicts... try to integrate the work of 50 different people who created mods and content with 50 different approaches, it is not easy, but that is what they are doing. 50 is just an arbitrary number, look at the manual credits, CFM contains the work of a lot of people.
So be patient... it won't be in the next few days. No need to wear out your F5 keys. It will come out at the right time, and I believe this will be the best super pack add on for IL-2, ever." END.
OK, we wait a bit longer than anticipated. Monty pulled the release at the 11th hour to improve and add to it.

Cristian, Yes, you need il-2 1946 patched to version 4.12.2. If you have the stock version it should be version 4.07. A patch from 4.07 to 4.12.2 is available here: http://www.mediafire.com/?kp8n59eobi0anThe topic that covers the patch is here: http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,38443.0.html You will need to copy and paste the above link to go to SAS site. If your version is already 4.12.2 you will be ready when the CFM mod is released. The download to get to 4.12.2 is large but you will see a very large improvement in il-2 1946. The CFM mod is due soon and it will add a lot of additional content. Feel free to ask if you have further questions.

Is the focus of this new compilation MP or SP?
I am currently enjoying DBW and are wondering if it will still be the best mod for SP or will this new compilation take over.

Regards MarkL CFM is specifically for SP and is effectively the successor of DBW for 4.12 and is also supposed to be compliant with the upcoming 4.13.

Thanks for the confirmation, like everyone else now looking forward to its release, and holding off for a more polished product is a very god idea. It is not as though we were staved for content already. Regards

The Saga continues.... Posted today by UberDemon at SAS: harpia, et all Monty is working in an enhanced CFM. So as far as what the original plan was last week, no it will not be that CFM, it will be something much better. He is actively working with his team as we speak, and I continue to support this project, albeit in a very small role. So no: CFM is NOT cancelled... it is just that the original plan of making CFM an easier-to-install TFM with some additional content, has grown to something much better, and much more stable. Patience and soon Monty will make the official statement of what the features are for this new pack. And believe me it will blow your mind. But wait, I already said too much. (Why am I posting here? Because Monty asked me to do a little Public Relations to assure the masses the work is really ongoing, and it is. Let us wait patiently and as he allows me to release additional info, I will.) UberDemon/danzigzag www.uberdemon.netA key sentence: "Patience and soon Monty will make the official statement of what the features are for this new pack. And believe me it will blow your mind." I hope you all are not running out of patience with me, I have been cheerleading this for what seems like much longer than 1 month as being almost here....sorry, I guess it will be here when it is.
