Just for the hell of it, If you did have access to a holodeck What program would you run. I must be getting old, The program I would run has no sexual content what's so ever. LoL
lets keep the adult content to a minimum. LoL

Well it'd be flying Nieuport 11's over Verdun, going after a balloon with rockets.
Then return to the aerodrome and a visit to the French chateau where my wife would be waiting, wearing a black jumpsuit like the girls wore in the GI Joe movies. We'd dispatch the ninjas that would attack using swords and submachineguns, make love, and then board a helicopter to the submarine.

On a related note, but with sexual content, sorry. Was listening to a Nerdist podcast the other day with Wil Wheaton and they were joking about the holodeck, and how the worst job on the enterprise was the guy who had to hose it down after Wesley was in there. LoL If holodecks were around when i was a teenager my eye sight would be as bad as Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge Plus they would have had to beam an away team to get the doors of the holodeck open as i would have welded them shut. LoL

I'd like to sail a pirate ship crewed by a select SimHQ crowd Yah, Haaaargh! Shiver me timbers, matey! I'd host a dinner party, or something. Or fight the battle of Hoth, with Leopard 2s Or go for a sight seeing trip around the universe. Too many ideas to list

1967 Spa-Francorchamps Grand Prix, artificial opponents adjusted so I have a decent chance at winning, and then the afterparty with the other notorious drivers of the time.
That should do... And this brings up something I was mulling about the notion of recreation. The holodeck would most likely present historical figures as we'd like (or imagine) them to be, rather than as they were. Would the holodeck have Lincoln talking in a high pitched, wheezy voice that sounded "like a tea kettle whistling?" Would the Escadrille Lafayette be full of rich Americans with a sense of entitlement playing at scout pilot and mostly staying on the ground and bickering at each other? Would Pappy Boyington be an arrogant, in-your-face kind of guy that most people really didn't like talking to? Would George Washington be prone to go into violent fits of rage when he got pissed at something, even minor things? Would Sergeant York be reading his Bible and trying to wash us in the blood of the lamb? Would Martin Luther King, Jr. share how he ruthlessly planned each step towards civil rights in cunning detail and then regale the latest of his extra-marital conquests? The thing is that we sanitize our heroes because that's what we require - and to keep from diminishing their very real, very important accomplishments. But every person is just a person, full of faults and personality that define what being a person is.

One thing that bothered me when I was re-watching Voyager a couple of years ago was teh fact that Janeway was rationing the replicator for food, but NOT the holodeck for the same reason- though it would seem that the holodeck would have a much, much higher power requirement.

You can create your own content, or try out content created by others. See the first TNG episode featuring Barclay (played by Dwight Schultz), where he used the senior staff as characters in a weird version of the Three Musceteers.
Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

I like when Picard would go in to live out his favorite P.I. novels. I'd probably go do something like that with favorite books or movies, or just hang out in the settings. Probably go fishing the best lakes too, that would go a long way after being stuck in space.
