Have to say that I've not been very much interested in WoW so far.

That vid kinda changed that, thanks for posting it here.

I don't really care for WoT all that much, but this looks interesting. I am interested to see how WT's naval combat shapes up.

Go on calling it WoW and people will really get the wrong idea. LOL
Looks nice, but is it me or do the ships seem to be moving really fast? Not sure that carrier should've survived ramming the destroyer.

They did seem rather quick didn't they? Hopefully they will look at that in future builds.

As for the carrier surviving that ram? It's World of Warships biggrin

So Mechwarrior with ships.

No coordinated fleet battles
No screening from smaller ships for larger ones
No formations or battle lines

Just everyone sailing around shooting at each other in whatever small or large chassis they like

Ooh, that guy brought a Yamato(Atlas) get him, get him!

Pass.

Everybody gets everything they want. I wanted a mission. And for my sins..they gave me one.

To be fair that's the concept behind all of their products.

And I'll throw the "War Thunder" franchise in the same pot.

Fair enough. They have never pretended to sell anything but that experience, so I can respect that.

I just wish there was a newer Fighting Steel type sim. All this processor and graphical horsepower and I am reduced to reenacting Hood vs Bismarck using Avalon Hill advanced rules on my tabletop.

I will only play this if they make it easier to play as a group than they did in WoT. WoT has the worst possible grouping system a game can possibly have.

There's always "Jutland" (if you want your gunnery officer "guns" to earn his pay) or perhaps "Harpoon" if you want something a touch more modern.

Hence why I play Steel Beasts and neither WoT nor War Thunder.

Well to me it seems to be more arcade crap (IMHO, others no doubt will love it) just on water rather than in the air or on the land.

As for the Carrier V Destroyer

Here is a real life example (HMAS Voyager Vs HMAS Melbourne):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melbourne%E2%80%93Voyager_collision

HMAS Voyager sank, HMAS Melbourne limped home and was repaired

I'll be playing this.

"From our orbital vantage point, we observe an earth without borders, full of peace, beauty and magnificence, and we pray that humanity as a whole can imagine a borderless world as we see it, and strive to live as one in peace."

Thanks Gibsonm, I have been a longtime Harpoon player (windowed behind what I am supposed to be working on. Shh!) and I own Distant Guns. My experience with the updating/DRM was so bad I didn't get Jutland even though the subject matter is a deep love of mine. I am hoping it lands on GoG.com someday. Avalon Hill's Jutland is my favorite "lite" miniatures game and its rule set was basically lifted for AH Bismarck's advanced rule set.

Enough hijack - I will buy Naval Action before I think about playing this.

Sorry I meant the Board / lounge room floor game, with hit sheets, range measuring rulers, etc. ahoy

But sorry back to normal programming ....

If they would

a) Double/Triple the size of the map
b) Slow the ships by about 70% (They look faster than MTBs.)

Then I might start to show some interest.

It seems that these games try so hard to keep 'gameplay' at the top of their list of priorities. It's as if they think all players suffer ADHD and that they'll leave if nothing happens inside a period of 20 seconds. Maybe a lot of players are like that and want that sort of gaming experience. Do they?
