Probably the greatest inventor of firearms, his designs are still front line equipment in the militaries of the world today.

I refer to him as St. John biggrin

He created the first Auto-loading shotgun, the A5, in 1898. It was sold as designed for 100 years until the stopped production in 1998.
Created the Winchester Model 1982
He created the iconic '1911' pistol in 1906, and it was adopted by the US Army in 1911
Created the M1919 .30 machine gun, used by Jeeps and tanks in WWII.

The Browning M2 .50 machine gun, Found in aircraft like Spitfire, Hurricane, Mustang, B-17, and even F-86 Sabre.
It serves on the M1A1 tank today...

Link to picture of all his weapons!

In my defense, I was left unsupervised...

YEs... thank you john Moses Browning! That M2HB .50 cal MG is just damned good. Well so long as you understand that whole timing thing. I always knew the one I got stuck with would go bang. I trusted her with my life and the lives of my little gun truck crew. I could not say that about my M4 in the desert. It probably would go bang for awhile. Until it did not. Thank god I never had to find out. Only time an M2 in my care ever really jammed up on me was after firing close to 1000 rounds. Just add CLP and its all good for another 1000.

WAIT! They forgot .38 acp. Pretty popular caliber into the 20's and 30's. Finally totally displaced by the .45acp. Although the .38 super is nothing but a .38 acp loaded way hotter. And that is some how still kicking. Although not a popular round here. It most certainly is where countries do weird things like ban military calibers. A .38 super (equals 9mm width) is a bit more powerful than 9 X 19mm. And is the forgotten other round designed to be fired out of a 1911. same length as the .45 acp.
