As someone who plays BF4 on XBOne and PC and has lots of crossbuy PS4/Vita titles, this will be a really cool option that will likely have me move to Win10 much sooner than planned.

I can't see EA or Activision giving away copies of Battlefield or Call of Duty so it's likely going to be limited to small indie titles at best, I hope I'm wrong as it would be a really good reason to buy an XBOX One as I went with just the PS4 this time around though I owned a PS3 and 360 last gen and it cost me a bloody fortune buying the AAA titles like Call of Duty on all three formats (plus season passes) because I had friends on each platform. I'll be upgrading to Windows 10 anyway, it looks like it's following Microsofts trend of releasing a good OS every other release, I'd have bought it anyway but as a free upgrade its a no brainier for me.

Maybe for the AAA titles they could offer a deal maybe buy for XBOX One and get PC version half price?

Don't see that happening either considering that just in the CoD franchise on Steam are:

2007 Modern Warfare is $20
2008 World at War is $20
2009 Modern Warfare 2 is $40
2010 Black Ops is $40
2011 Modern Warfare 3 is $40
2012 Black Ops 2 is $60

I'd like to see the whole Halo series and Forza on the PC but with Microsoft struggling against Sony and the PS4 I don't see them wanting to diminish the the XBOX brand by releasing exclusive system selling titles on PC.

The plan is to Boost the Xbox BRAND. it's not limited to hardware.

Don't get me wrong I'd like to see it but the day they announce Forza 6 or Halo 5 to release on PC and XBOX One is the day millions of teens explode in a ball of teen angst, Mountain Dew and zit cream. If it was about boosting the XBOX brand they would have released FORZA 5 on the 360, exclusive titles are what sells the systems and as far as gaming goes the only hardware they care about is the XBOX One because that's the one they can control and that's the one they can make money from.

That would probably help encourage a lot of gamers to upgrade to Windows 10, that and DirectX 12 though they failed with Vista and DirectX10 but the Halo series remastered would be the big lure they didn't have with Vista.

It doesn't sound promising from what Phil Spencer has said in the last few days. In answer to the question about Halo MCC "Once it's all fixed up, any chance we'll see on PC?" he replied:

Then in another interview said:

If you play this out - so let's not talk about the next 6 months but talk about the next three or four years - you'll see more and more developers that are building these games that are appropriate for any screen that the gamer's sitting down on. And that's just more opportunity for gamers and developers.

I didn't think Microsoft would be keen on putting games that sell XBOX's on another format even if it is Windows 10. I like Phil Spencer though, he seems a bit more genuine than Don Mattrick and has a better vision of where the XBOX should be heading, if he had been running the show when the XBOX One was designed I don't think Sony would have done quite so well with the PS4 despite the fact its a great machine. The future looks a lot brighter with him at the helm.

He sounds like he is talking about porting but they are talking about running winx as if it was an xbox one. So you would put in the game disc and your pc would boot into an xbox one mode.

(this is not confirmed anywhere I have seen other than for a few arcade games.)

The new XBO DevKits use DX12 and X86-64 MSVC Compiler.

So if a company wanted to port from XBO quickly, they simply adjust some input settings and change the compiler from Xbox One to Windows x86-64
