Has anyone else had a problem with losing all control of the Su-27 when you bunt the nose slightly (or even aggressively?).. Twice in the last five missions I've had a problem where if I put a negative G on the airplane (not even a quarter stick deflection) the airplane goes into some locked inverted state. The screen goes black, the stick does not respond, and you can't even eject. You just flutter down and explode when you hit the ground. I'm not using any of the autopilot/computer interrupt buttons (no Cobras or anything unusual)..

Anyone seeing this behavior?

Twice last night, had enough altitude to recover, just assumed I pushed her too hard and it departed. I also find you can assault the limiters rather easily and depart.

Sounds suspiciously like ASC Direct Control is enabled. This is the FBW bypass that allows you to perform the cobra (if performed correctly), but more often than not just gets you into an inverted flat spin.

The switch is animated and right behind the throttle; either make sure you don't have it mapped, or if you have it mapped you can verify that it is off if the switch cover is closed.

The average naval aviator, despite the sometimes swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy, and caring. These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Yeah..maybe it is stealth mapped to something. The other thing I was thinking was that perhaps the autopilot is putting in some sort of trim that is having an effect (but I'm not on autopilot when it happens, and am fully trimmed out...)

I think you are on to something though.. Lemme check my control mapping and see if something is accidentally assigned to that ASC Direct Control...

Thanks!

Note the Su-27 has no AoA limiter for Negative pitch (the limiter is the pilots ability for neg G) as such it is VERY easy in sim to depart with too much neg AoA. Be mindful of it.

I had seen this sort of behaviour in FC2. I think it's due to putting too much negative G on yourself and experiencing a loss of consciousness (it's consistent with your inability to eject or to control the aircraft).
