A couple of shots of the pre-order version of Naval Action. Game is still in a very early stage of development and not finished.

The game is still very limited in its content, basically PvE and PvP team deathmatch. But it's already a ton of fun! It's not a sailing simulator but it's also not totally arcade like Assassin's Creed: Black Flag.

The plan is to create an open-world MMO game, I'm looking forward to seeing how this game will come along.

ahoy

Great screens, sailing ships are just beautiful to watch.

Thanks guys!

My new brig, ain't she lovely? And with a battery of eight 6-pdrs on each side and two carronades in the stern she packs quite a punch.

These United States of America
Do they render different sea states? Will there also be inclement weather? Lovely shots indeed.

There is stormy weather but I haven't seen it yet. Weather will play an important part in the final game but as I've said, it's still a very early version.

Steering the bigger ships is already a nice challenge. You have to manually manage the yards to tack against the wind for example. Simply turning the rudder won't work.

But boy is it satisfying to come up on an enemy's stern and rake him with a broadside!

biggrin

Ah so that was you!!! smile

Also really enjoying the game, I've just graduated to the Surprise, really lovely ship. I just have to try and figure out how to sail her correctly!

For a pre alpha this is very very good. I can think of a few ( actually quite a few ) games in their finished states weren't as much fun.

Happy sailing Para!

A Sea Dogs/PotC sequel that isn't buggy as all hell would be awesome, I hope this takes off.

We need a competent developer and publisher to make Silent Hunter in the late 1700s and in Star Trek biggrin
