I'm re-doing my cockpit and I've finally mustered the courage to paint it as well. Suggestions for colors? I've seen all-black setups, I've seen that aircraft-gray color... since this isn't going to be anywhere near a replica cockpit (minimalist this time), I'm not really sure which color to go for.

I'm a fan of US colors, so you know what I'll say.

I'm taking it apart because I'm changing seats plus the side consoles are more of a bother than a use. So, new seat and new HOTAS mounts. Same rudder and monitor table assembly for now, I'm still designing a new one. Sabre, WTH is an "eggshell finish"?? I've been looking around the paint section of B&Q and I have wondered what silk/eggshell/etc means. I'm not 100% committed to realistic colors, but I do want something that looks-the-part. I'm not painting this bright pink or tweety-yellow even though doing so would mean the wife would allow it in the living room. No sir!!

Okay, after another visit to the paint store and looking at samples, I guess eggshell or satin should be alright for my pit....
Now to decide on the color....

what type of a/c do you like the most? civy airliners, trainers, modern military old military? I'm more into ww2 stuff so went for a black and light green interior like alot of ww2 RAF a/c had.

Military... I went with "Warm Pewter" from Dulux on Satin finish. I probably should've stuck with water-based paints but we'll see. I already have version 2 in mind and that should be better since I can let the paint dry for a week or two if necessary.
