Did pretty well on last years resolution to fly more and make further trips. Goal was 200 hours and I did 158. Made longer flights to Augusta, Georgia and Virginia Beach, VA. So this year my resolution is the same- more flying hours and longer trips. West Virginia and Texas are on the agenda so far. On the West Virginia trip I may add in Pittsburg, PA to visit my hometown area.

Just a few years ago I would have had 3 or 4 more pancakes on that plate, double sausage plus a side of grits. eek And I do go easy on the butter and syrup, before I would drown a stack.

Same with desserts, eating today what I would have considered just a tease back in the day. Typical restaurant portions now seem to me to be absurd.

I have the same feeling as well. The worst ones seem to be the big restaurant chains like Olive Garden and Red Lobster.

I had knee surgery back on Aug 1 at the Salisbury VA hospital. The surgeon was a big low-carb proponent, and my parents were already doing it. The combination of them and the doc convinced me to do it. I'm proud to say that since then I've lost 32 lbs. My goal is to get back to my Air Force weight, but I've still got a good ways to go.

I've also not had a single soda since then. I was addicted to Dt Mt Dew. Now it's water, unsweet tea, coffee, and diet lemonade.

I'd also like to get to the point where I stop fiddling with my cockpit setup and just enjoy it. While out of work for the surgery I had to use a desk because I couldn't get in and out of the Obutto, but I've since gone back to the Obutto and done some functional improvements to the way I had everything set up.

I resolve to stop building button panels and such that I end up not using! screwy

I would like to get back to running shape. I am currently plagued by multiple reoccuring injuries which is making it quite difficult.

100 days without alcohol

Concerning the weight losing.
Reduce heavily the snacks, sodas etc sweet sugar bombs and fill your plate at least half with veggies. Use only olive oil.

Dec 2012 I was 220lb and 16 months later I was 170lb/5.9f. The re-started outdoor activities helped some on the process, but no special diet or heavy gym training. It was all about a common sense concerning the food quality and amount.

Note. During that time I WAS eating a pastas, sweet desserts etc and drinking a beers, but only a small amounts now and then.

BTW
One of my very favorite salad. Extreme simple and full of pure tastes.

I have a friend who lost over 100 lbs in past 7 months and he wants to lose 20 more.

He can't no longer eat steaks, bread, pasta, Chinese food, fried food.

He eats a lot of fresh steamed veggies with no salt.

Salads with just olive oil and vinegar, no crouton, no cheese, no bacon, no creamy heavy salad dressing.

He also eats a lot of baked fish and chicken with the skin taken off.

Also nothing sweet like desserts and treats and soda pops and energy drinks and no alcohol.

FDM4BGE, that looks fantastic (Mozzarella?), something my wife would make.

Good for you for choosing the slower path, I try not to lose more than 2 lbs./week and over time average around 1.5 lbs./week. It doesn't take long to look and feel better even way before you reach a target, after just a few weeks you really start noticing (and she will too).

I lost 80 lbs. in '08-'09 but gained 40 back, starting with an out-of-state move which killed our routine while the drawn-out process had us constantly eating out. I thought that since I lost it slowly, it would be hard to gain back (I thought that's how it went) and I was wrong, you have to work around circumstances and keep up the lifestyle as best you can. Once I fell off the wagon I was in no hurry to get back on it.

But the slow loss might be why I gained only half of it back before taking control, whereas some people I know have gained it ALL back and then some.

It's a Italian Caprese salad (insalata caprese)

Mozzarella cheese, fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, salt, black pepper and olive oil.

I add sometimes a splash of balsamic vinegar, olives and/or ham slices. At the end I wipe the plate with slice of oat bread smile

Yes, the slower way works better in long term.

More beer, more whiskey, laugh as much, and get the house in a proper state of organization.

Hmmmm, I may have conflicting goals there.

Hope you all don't mind if I do one more, a little healthier than breakfast...

Leftover grilled chicken breast (to be cut in two and microwaved)
Pepper jack cheese (to be placed on hot chicken for semi-melt)
Spinach leaves, tomato, avocado, (out of pickles) on a whole wheat wrap covered with black peppercorn
Honey mustard (Dijon mixed with local honey)

Use a little honey mustard on wrap to seal (sometimes you need a toothpick to hold) and add a side of sliced mushrooms topped with the rest of the honey mustard.

For a simple reheat that's a little sticky, this is one of my favorites.

++++++++++

A big accomplishment for me in 2015 will be to start my own garden. My parents should be moved in this year and my father has a tiller and the knowledge (they've already planted fruit trees and a fig tree in my yard). I'm really looking forward to working my first garden and for my wife to get her laying hens (love multi-colored eggs).

Vienna, 2nd rock left.
My love life was a bit of a mess last year - and to be honest, also the year before, ever since I broke up with my GF of five years. No one to blame but myself for it.

There's a simple resolution for this new one: Stop dealing with the wrong women who make my life complicated, and filter for those who make it easy and enjoyable.

Additionally if I get my displine up I could lose five or ten pounds and be in really good shape (not quite sixpacked but close).

I'm with you RS. Ended a long one as well last year and haven't felt great since. I'm looking to make 2015 not suck nearly as badly as 2014 did in general, it felt like a really crummy year that just kept dragging on.

That and I'm getting a damn dog already, been wanting one for way too long now. Women shmomen, I'd rather pick up poop and go enjoy the outdoors more wink
