The scenery in WOFF is out of this world. It's the best I have ever seen in any flight sim, and as I said before, that if this is what it was like to fly in WWI, I can totally understand why men were willing to risk their lives to do so. I need a bigger screen and a faster rig now just to enjoy the beauty of this sim! Kudos to Winder as he really set the bar higher than it has ever been before!

<ctrl> + <alt> + <a> - auto pilot or 'AI pilot' <ctrl> + <a> - auto level The "Auto Level" command is actually the "auto trim" command which apparently does not work. Least for me. Wish we had a "auto level".

I need a bigger screen and a faster rig now just to enjoy the beauty of this sim! Faster rig, perhaps. But bigger screen? I went that route a year ago and was bitterly disappointed. Like yourself, (if I read you correctly) I had visions of flying into a vast panorama of mouth-watering scenery. Not so. Your super-screen will only show what your small screen shows. But bigger. Your instrument panel still takes up just as much of the picture, no matter what size the screen. I invested in a 50" Flat Screen TV. That was just the beginning, since I too, am dealing with an ageing rig. In addition, I normally run two monitors, so if I want to fly I have to unplug one of them since they use up both video slots. Like so many tower computers, mine sits on the floor, against the wall, with a rat's nest of wires running from two power strips and monstrous surge protector. (Got a huge one, having learned the hard way) So I decided to get a second computer that would be a dedicated WOFF rig. Having done that, I'm still having problems (mainly frame rate) and my Tech Guy says I've got a p*ssweak video card. I spring for a top-of-the-line screamer of a card. Victory? Not hardly. It seems that with the combination of running WOFF, and a Big Screen, and a Screamer Video Card, my power supply simply can't carry the load. New Power Supply? Yup. Now I'm loaded for bear, or Huns, whoever shows up first. But before I fire it up, where do I put my TrackIR? I'm sitting about four/five feet from the screen. If I perch the TrackIR in its normal spot (top left corner of screen) it's looking down at me from a bizarre angle (from its POV) and is not reading my ProClip correctly. In addition, because this is a TV and not a monitor, at that distance the picture is a bit on the grainy side. Not horribly so, but just enough to nag at me. I could, to some degree, solve all this by moving back farther. But then the screen gets smaller, and how much have I really gained? So I went back to flying on my regular 27" monitor, on the older computer. I gave the 50" to a family member and the state-of-the-art Screamer WOFF computer sits on the floor of a closet. A lesson learned, and it only cost me somewhere around $1700.00 My advice? Just get a better video card and sit closer to the monitor you have.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

hauksbee - I went with a 21:9 34" monitor as it does actually give you wider view of the world to either side and much more immersive in my opinion too check some of my most recent images in screenshots for exterior views as screenshots captures, and there are some from interior as well in this post as a field of view comparison added bonus was that monitor I got is at 3440x1440 resolution as well - so higher than most but not quite at the 4k (which when maxed is hard to read any text at all, and as I hear has a tough time pushing all the pixels from most high end graphics cards too?) I still get 50pfs, but may put in a second GeForce 970 down the road too when they price drop a bit http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4039816/getting_ready_for_2.0#Post4039816regards, Ron

Oh yes. No new textures. All .xml and .txt edits.
EDIT: Looks like the man himself (Panama Red) has posted his new weather mod for download. See the Mod section.

Here is an interesting screen capture. I landed with my mates at our aerodrome and glancing to the left I saw my budding coming to a slow stop but curiously his tail kept sinking into the ground until 1/3 of the fuselage was below ground and then suddenly I heard a loud crack. Must be some quicksand at the drome!!! Those WOFF Dev's have thought of it all!! I must have the field staff fix that before I get caught in it!!
