What is better or different between these for XBox One?

Thanks!

Forza 5 is a track racer game where you run a circuit or point to point race. Horizon is an open world game where you drive around finding events to take part in and then race.

Forza 5 has more car customization but horizon 2 has weather and time of day.

Depends on what you are looking for. Forza 5 is more of a sim racer like the Gran Turismo series. Where Horizon is more of a aracady racer that is an open world. More like NFS underground. Forza 5 is a organized racer and horizons is more like you and your buddies getting together to race.

I will add though, that (IMO at least), F5 is a bit less "Simmy" than the GT series, but FH2 is less "arcadey" than the NFS series. For example, FH2 does allow for tuning and upgrading of cars, and the tuning changes can have a pronounced affect on the car, just like in the more 'simmy' F5 and GT series.

IMO, FH2 edges out F5 by a hair, as F5 feels a bit lacking in features (eg. the aforementioned weather and time of day effects), as it appears they had to develop on a tight deadline to launch with the Xbox one. I also feel FH2 is a more fun title to play with a controller, where as lots of the impressive driving physics improvements made in F5 over F4 require a high-end force feedback wheel to get the most out of.

One last thing, at launch F5's in game economy was a train wreck, and required either a ton of grinding or the purchase of in-game currency to start having any real fun. Changes and balances have been made over time, but it still seems like slow progress. Conversely, FH2's economy was designed to fall into the background, and I've never felt like lots of the fun cars were too far out of reach.

Went ahead and got FM5 yesterday (as it was 29.99 for the GOTY edition).

Started my career with 6.5 Million Credits thanks to Forza Rewards, lol.

(Been hitting it up as often as I could for FM4, FH and FH 2 Rewards, lol, So I had Monthly Installments of 600K+ for the last 11 Months.. lol)
