It looks like trying to compile the source for the Generic HID program is a pain on windows so I might give it a try on a Debian/Ubuntu VM later.

I had a chance last weekend to almost everything up. I managed to wiring everything up (except the shield ground) while doing the crappiest soldering job I have ever done since I could not find my helping hands. I might end up redoing the wiring. This weekend I plan on placing everything into the enclosure.

Sokol1, I thought about using an external ADC such as this from SparkFun https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9056. I would actually be curious to make a shield or something that would allow you to plug in any DB15 joystick and assign each pin using jumpers whether or not it was ground, power, or data. I am actually surprised nothing like that exists on the market.

After raiding another RadioShack for parts on Saturday (walked away with 120+ pieces and a new Multi-Meter) I spent some time drilling and cutting the enclosure for my switches and Arduino. I attached some leads to some of the LEDs for this photo. I plan on hooking everything up later this week.

I want to add a tiny button to the back of the safety covers so a warning sound is played when the it is flipped up. For example: "Warning! Self Destruct Primed." or something like that.

On as side note, when using a rotary tool's cutting wheel, it is advisable to wear a respirator as a whole lot of fine particulate is thrown into the air.

I think you should open the throttle and rewire the pot's.

Gameporte pot' are wired with 2 wires and set as resistance.

For USB are use 3 wires (+5V, Signal, Gnd), pot' are set as voltage "divider".

Maybe this cure the axis spikes and mixing.

I was able to eliminate 95% of it with 4 low-pass filters but you are probably right that I will need to replace the pots.

I may have gone a bit crazy with my box. It has expanded to 25 buttons/switches.
