I just put up an ArmA3 Wasteland server running the Altis map. All you need to play on it is the A3 Wasteland mod for ArmA3. It is a relatively small download (16.9 MB) and install instructions are included in the readme. Basically you download the mod and unzip or unRAR it. Put The A3Wasteland_settings folder into the ArmA3 root directory and put the A3Wasteland_v1.0b.Altis pbo into the MPMissions folder. Thats it! You are ready to play.

If you are not familiar with Wasteland it is more of a PvP or TvT scenario. You could lone wolf or play along with some friends. There are AI missions that run constantly and they are a means to bankroll some cash or use it to upgrade your gear. Vehicles will save, but only those that you buy. If you use a map spawned vehicle it will disappear after a server restart. You can find a vehicle of some sort in just about any village or city. For more info join the server and read the Wasteland synopsis and game tips when you open the map. if you don't see my server listed in the browser you can remote in. Click on remote from the ArmA3 server browser and enter the following IP and port #:

I added ATM functionally to the A3 Wasteland server. Now you can deposit your stash so you don't lose it all when you die. You can make deposits, withdrawals or transfer money to another player.

I cancelled this server because of very poor up time by the provider.

I can put up another Wasteland server, but probably not today. I like A3Wasteland because of the AI missions and it is persistent. It saves the player data.

I'm running a Domination mission at the moment. You are welcome to join that. If interested, there are no mods running. Just vanilla ArmA3. In the ArmA3 server browser filter for mission: co40 and mission type: cooperative. The host name is 71st Calvary. That should get you there. No password is required. I find it pretty tough without a small group, but I nibble away at the edges.

I forgot that although I won't be renewing this server next month, it is available now and it should be running for a few weeks. Give it a try if you like. I just checked on it and it is running.

Do you have the files for Domaination that you use? I'm trying to build a Domination server and I'm having trouble finding an UNMODDED version of Domination.

I'm just using the Domination! mission by Xeno. You should be able to find that with Google. When you have it you simply run it as a multiplayer mission. You can do it with your PC and it works fine.

I'll check on the A3 Wasteland server. Don't know why it would kick you on join.

I've searched Google, Armaholic, etc. They all have links to modified version of the Dom!2 mod. I want the ORIGINAL downloads if someone has them.

...but again, none of those I believe are vanilla. No wonder he left the scene. It's such an uncontrolled mess with everybody's own special build and requirements. Pain the butt.

That is the nature of the ArmA series. The mods can add a lot to the game/missions, immersion, etc., but it can be a bit of a hassle for people to download them and get it all to work. I've had more players join my Domination vanilla (no mods) server recently than I would ever see with a mission that includes lots of mods. Most players simply want a quick game and don't want to bother with mods. I've been considering running an Insurgency mission, but the All in ArmA Terrain Pack (AIA TP) is a 6.5 GB download! That is only one of the mods that I'll need. The players will require the same to join.

My take is if it is only you and a few friends that are playing, agree on a mission and the mods that are required. Commit to that and go for it.
