Have a new laptop, and not liking the monitor color. Tried the built-in MS routine.

Anyone use something they like that's free?

Thanks for the link Alicatt, looks like CalMAN is what I'm looking for.

I forgot about the MS Routine,

I eventually just downloaded the test images for Brightness, Contrast, and Color (I think I have 34 in total, as I had alot of them for my CRT TV) and just used those.

Yep it is quite good, been using it for longer than I can remember, version 2, and is what I use to keep my home cinema calibrated. I have the i1Display2 colourimeter which is branded by SpectraCal and is made by X-Rite, before that I used the Spyder 2 to calibrate my PC monitors and projector.

My Oppo Bluray player came with the Spears & Munsil calibration disk but there is just as good DVD/Bluray/HD DVD ISO images for calibration on the AVS site

I'm a big fan of Spyder 2. I use that to calibrate mine.

It worked fine - and still does - but it would not calibrate my projector properly
