Hey guys,

New Woff'er here - been playing for a couple of weeks now and having a great time. There is just one thing that really annoys me though, just one little thing that is pure nit picking but would make my experience so much more enjoyable if I could fix it... Is there a way to remove the loading screen sound effects? It's especially annoying with the expansion, as my game now loads immediately, but I still have to listen to the sound effects overlaid onto the game. They are just so loud and obnoxious and they really hurt my ears with my headphones in... I know I could just turn the volume down, but it would be so much better if they could just disappear.

Love everything else though, I can't think of any other flight sim released in the last 10 years that has a good single player campaign - I hope other dev teams will take note.

Thanks,

Ross

The startup sequences had about 20-30 seconds loading time in mind. Since more and more people are using SSD drives, which loads the game a lot faster, I will probably make a shorter version as a mod, or official option. Depending of how the Dev's want it.

Cheers

Another quick fix is to turn off, in the Workshop, Menu music. That disables that.

I think you can easily remove the engine&contact intro sound files. You only need to know were they are.

Wait a minute, as a proud French Morane Pilote, I DEMAND to have a French speaking "contact" man!!!!!
Vive la France.

No serious, why not a French speaking "contact" guy inhere.

Thanks all, found the files, they are in Campaigns/CampaignData/Shellmusic with several versions each for the Brits and Germans. Gotta love the attention to detail, their are separate versions for rotary and in-line engines!

The correct commands in English are three: "Switches Off", "Suck in" and "Contact". The first gets confirmation that the magneto switches are off from the pilot. Suck in is when the prop is turned backwards to prime the engine and the last is a command to the pilot to switch the mags on. Then the prop is swung.

My father was nearly killed by a pilot who failed to switch off and the engine fired on the "suck in" part. The prop hit my father in the jaw, cutting his lip and knocking out a few teeth and then stopped! He told me this when I asked why he always had a moustache. The hair hid the scar on his top lip.

Luckily I never had to do this as our DH Canada chipmunks had cartridge starters.

I did notice that the commands are different in German although I can't make out the words.
