In WOFF it would be super.

All but the easternmost sectors are on the current map, so there's some hope it may happen one day.

There was a good deal of discussion about this before OFF became WOFF and as I recall some modding was done, skins were done for planes.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But in practice, there is.

Seaplanes are a must for that theatre, and I think CFS3 cannot handle seaplanes.

Seaplanes (and amphibians) are definitely supported in CFS3. There are a several WWII seaplanes available now as freeware. We also have water runways. I assume WOFF would be capable of supporting them too if the devs decided to make them.

There was a Seaplane in the first version of OFF way back when, there was no problem with them then. There was even a primitive aircraft carrier, but that didn't work to well wink.

Yes, I remember the seaplane from OFF Phase 1 (or was it Phase 2). If I'm not mistaken it was a Short Type 184 Seaplane and you could arm it with a Torpedo! I really wish that the Short Type 184 seaplane could make a come back in WOFF.

The map is there, so it would definitely be possible to add the Italian Front to WOFF. It's very much a forgotten front of the Great War, perhaps even more so than the Eastern Front. The Austrians had some very interesting aircraft, including their superb Oeffag Albs, which were actually better than the German ones. The Italians also had their own aircraft but also made good use of French aircraft in particular.

I do own the Muromets game, the 4 engine bomber is a fine plane to fly, but I think not a great warfront to develop a good selling game for. IM has stopped because of the lack of buyers.

About Italian front I do not know, sure flying around the big mountains would be a great extra, but think this would also need a lot of labor to build this expansion pack.

I do prefer the Belgium airforce more, think it is much simpler to design a Belgium WoFF expansion pack and would bring in far more buyers.

Yes, obviously the Belgians would be a lot easier to add to WOFF, and I absolutely agree that they should come first. Besides, the Western Front air war is far from completely represented in WOFF currently. For example, the French are missing a huge amount of very important bomber and recon aircraft.

The air war on the Eastern Front was much less intense than either in the West or the Italian Front. Modelling it would also be quite difficult, because the front was very long and the lines moved much more than in France or Italy.

I'm absolutely sure that just adding the Italian Front would involve a huge amount of work!

Not to mention that the Eastern Front would require an entirely new map to be made, which takes a LOT of work.

High over the Front
+1 Hasse.
There is still a lot to be done on the Western Front.
I would like to see that completed before any other theater is looked at but that's just me.
Relatively speaking it is the main event.

The North Sea is there too, maybe some seaplanes and flying boat will be nice to have.

The Short 184 was a high-maintenance aircraft as the exhaust valves would get red hot and bend so that the engine had to be changed after every flight. Metallurgy has come a long way since then cuss2

French planes first, then "secondary"* fronts, as they are full of french planes anyway! wink
