I saw some news on DCS Forums suggesting that the Mi-24 causes DCS Stopped Working issues. We sure have had a recent rash of those in The Highway and it has those helicopters in it.

I'm dl'ing a new update so hopefully this was addressed.

Three guys were flying Hueys in The Highway --



^^^ They flew all the way from Gelen Airbase back to where The Highway meets the coast. So I moved the old London FARP from north of the big lake to across the lake from KC Airbase. Now the Hueys are at the top of The Highway and can waste lots of Red columns that are not too far away, plus all the stuff at KC!

Well, I got my MFDs this week, my brother's new Screen PSU got here, so I can take his smaller one to use with my MFDs instead of the Acer I have now. Which has issues. (Its not a gaming screen, its tall, blocks sound bar speakers, silver so it reflects light when I play in the dark, its 24 inch 16:10 so there's a lot of wasted screen space, i don't use helios any more)

The bad news is the seller I bought my Warthog stick from on eBay has contacted me to notify me they no longer have the item and will have to refund my money.

Which will take a week or so due to moving money from paypal to bank account then to credit card, then ordering item from another source.

My old 7950 will go from backup box to my brother's system as some games are exceeding the 7930's 2GB VRAM,
He has a new LG IPS panel that I got for a steal (75% off), it just didn't have a power supply and used a specific PSU, so I had to order one.

His old screen is smaller with black bezels and will not be as tall or stick out as much like my silver 16:10 acer, also will have less wasted space on screen and twidge less resolution for the gpu to render. 1680x1050 vs 1600x900, the size is also smaller so the MFDs will take up about 80% of the screen surface. The Acer will move to a Swing Arm and placed above the center screen as I'll likely use it for other applications.

Good to hear you are making progress! I can sympathize with you over the stick - getting my HOTAS required a few buy & refunds before I was able to get it. Most places seem to only stock a couple units at a time. The wait will be worth it!

On a side note - with the Firehouse offline and Hollo Pointe down (crashed when I was on a couple days ago - PM sent to Crew. Couldn't connect with teamviewer to restart either - wasn't running on HP machine.) I have a copy of the lastest version of The Highway running off my system if anyone wants in.

It's not up 24/7 or running SLMOD but I will consider making a dedicated machine later in the year should I be able to get the funds together. I have gotten 75Mbps Down / 10Mbps Up connectivity now so it should be smooth sailing!

I'm prolly just gonna keep my CH Stick for a while,

whenever the money is refunded it's gonna goto bills anyway, I cant afford to blow another $300 now, lol.

the only difference Button wise is the pinky handle and CMS Z Axis.

the MFDs are working great, so much easier going from screen to screen and operating the DSMS and TGPs etc without having to move the mouse all over the place, that in combination with the WartHog throttle has made my Simmin' life A LOT Easier, I export the displays to a separate screen and turn off the 3D Cockpit most of the time anyway, so. I might look into building a ACES Replica Chair, as my desk chair is just too free, moves too much, lol.


And to top it off, the Power Supply for my brother's LG Screen is defective, works for a lil bit then the screen starts going on and off, tapping the Power Supply Box stops the blinking, errm yeah, I just emailed the company and asked for a replacement.

it looks great when it's on, but the Power Issues is something I'm just not gonna deal with. Send the Power Suppy back get a replacement, if 2nd one does the same, goto a different company or see if I can order from LG Directly. definitely a loose component on the inside.

I had a nice vacation with the family -- my dad took us on a cruise through the East Caribbean!

Got back into the Hog yesterday with The Highway. Made some more tweaks to the Red columns -- replaced all ZU-23's with low-level armor, and replaced all of the fire trucks with fuel tankers.

Pilot Rabb got his wingtip hung up on a fuel truck at Gelen. I tried to pry him loose by destroying the truck with the M1-A1. Rabb repaired and flipped off the Ground Gun Safety (?) and let go a burst of the cannon that backed him out!

There are changes to the Paradise mission also -- it begins at dawn now, instead of midnight. And almost all of the Red AAA is replaced with low-level armor so Hueys should have a better go against the Red forces -- before, the Hueys would get to the river's T-junction and be destroyed by ZU-23s.

Pretty incredible! Man that was a blast last eve Crew, good having a team, we tidied up nicely once we got rolling.

I changed it a bit after the win. All the forts were too close together -- when you dropped on Paradise West everything went up -- BOOM shaka laka!

Yeah I was planning on needing a drop on opposite sides of the compound, had I known a single Mk-84 was gonna ruin that much stuff I would have put one in the middle. Was fun CCIP bombing, as you said that's a great mission for homing that skill. Was my first time in that one, I enjoyed it.
