On my last two campaign missions my flight leader took off, climbed to about 500ft and then leveled off, dove, and then flew about 50t off the ground in a continuous circuit. As if we were in the typical spiral climb at the start of most missions to gain altitude however he just stays at 50ft perpetually. In both circumstances I followed for about 15 minutes before breaking off and landing to start a new mission.
Is this a case of engine failure for the flight lead? It didn't seem that way as he was able to maintain a fairly high speed just simply wouldn't climb. The rest of the flight simply followed around and around and around slightly behind and above.
I think next mission I'll bite the bullet and follow this event to its finality just to see what happens. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue? Just curious. Thanks.
